Just because teams have played for 100 years, shouldnt factor into whats right and whats wrong ! I would like to think cheaters shouldnt still go about business as usual and expect teams to still play them. I applaud Wheelersburg for saying we want no part of playing a team that has these violations and proved by the OHSAA! High standards and doing whats right in the end means alot , to some people!

Steve Johnson - One of the top Pikeville assistants 5 state championships. Would he be willing to move back (Wheelersburg) home? Put up more points on Ironton’s state championship team last year than anyone including Liberty Center & Beat Burg a few seasons ago.
Matt Hoops - Unioto 3 straight SVC conference titles coming off an 11 win season. Hadn’t won a league title since 1998. Hoops took over in 2020?
Jerrod Pendleton - One of the top Ironton assistants. Any interest on his end in coming home (Portsmouth, West) back up the river? Pending not one of the three suspended.
Mike Salmons - Competitive every year & has improved the team over the past decade since taking over the strong program TJ Maynard built. Would he leave Raceland?
Once again I’ve heard the job was taken by Chad Hammond, also heard JP put in for it and was laughed at. Could all be smoke and it’s not even posted, but I heard they didn’t post it because they knew who they wanted to fill it.

Id be shocked with a Tomlison to Portsmouth move. I’m sure he leaves Eastern at some point because all his kids are gone now. But he lives in Ross County. Is Portsmouth so lucrative that he’d drive over an hour to get there everyday? I doubt it.

Situated at a small school between Jackson, Piketon, Minford, and Waverly is kind of a sweet spot for kids who don’t want to wait until 11th grade to be starters.
Don’t have any concrete proof like others have stated. A friend told me there’s a new AD and the coach is in house and has already accepted the job. Now I know neither of these things have been posted or confirmed so at this point they are both rumors but it’s a rumor it looks like multiple people have heard from a source. With that said, I sure hope something is announced soon. Hopefully someone has the weight room open for the kids this winter. Need to build your staff, and get a schedule finalized (hearing Burg week 1, dropped Ironton, kept Ironton, no clue myself on what’s true.) Lost I think around 12-15 seniors on an already small team of 34 from this past season. Maybe a new coach will get the numbers up, Portsmouth having less than 50 kids seems crazy but the new reality.
Will the new AD be given some time to decide on what games will be on the 2026 schedule? It was given with the prior connections that the schedule would look similar to 2025 but that may change with a New AD coming in…
