Re: OVC 2022-23
Talking to a buddy, Portsmouths young player who Ohio State offered a letter of intent, this should help Trojans back to the top also. Havent heard TrojanD talk about this. Good news for the Trojans to build on.

PrimeTime: I hear a lot of rumors of comings and goings during the summer......as far as what you're talking about, I haven't heard anything factual, so I'm holding off until something regarding this has more substance to it.

She is a female, going to be in 8th at Portsmouth and yes has been offered by OSU.
She is the granddaughter of coach Mike Hughes as many remember. She also has a cousin that will be a freshman at Portsmouth this year that will be playing D1 basketball as well.
Portsmouth girls are going to be very special in a couple years.

Re: OVC 2022-23
Portsmouth girls and fairland girls will be battling for state titles. Anything less will be a failure for both.

Chesapeake will be dangerous come February with Ater. Good coach who has some Ok pieces to do what he wants.
Ironton probably has the most talent, but not a ton of depth. Think league champ will have multiple losses, perhaps 3. Lot of parity it seems.

Re: OVC 2022-23
Curious what Gallia Academy has back this year besides a 6-8 post who can be a real force. Will they be as strong as last season, which was a pretty good year for them?

Clary, Franklin, Fellure. Pretty good cast right there. Also heard they added a guard from River Valley. They should be in consideration for conference IMO.
Ironton, Gallia, Port, SP, and Fairland all could be at the top or in the middle. Still think RH will open some eyes this year too. Will be a battle every game night. No easy conference games
Re: OVC 2022-23
Schreck from Ironton will without a doubt be the best sophomore in the OVC in 22-23. He will have a late start due to football playoffs which will make him a much tough kid physically for basketballOVCFan1 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 9:23 am How does the league shape up for next season? Who loses what and who is returning for each team next Season?
OVC Record in parenthesis **If I have any records wrong, I do apologize**
I will start with our Hustlin' Hornets
Fairland - (11-3)
South Point - (10-4)
Ironton - (8-6)
Chesapeake - (8-6)
Gallia - (7-6)
Portsmouth - (5-9)
Coal Grove - (3-11) The Hornets lose seniors Trevor Hankins 10-PPG and Perry Kingery; They return arguably the best freshmen in the OVC/Area in Owen Johnson (16-PPG) as well as JR. PG-Dryzen Mullens, Jr. 6'4" Forward-Hunter Staton, Jr. Elijah Dillon, Jr. Braxton Horn, Gavin Gipson. Jr. Landon Davis They also will be bringing up a very talented group of current 8th graders... Coal Grove will be a better team next season and will improve their OVC Record next season (3-11 OVC 2021-22)
Rock Hill - (2-11)
