WILL IRONTON STILL BE DIV. 4 THIS YEAR. GOTTA BE CLOSE TO 5.

just wondering , i had not heard i know that we keep getting closer to d5. wondered what the figures were, or if they’d been released yet. and are we anticipating growth with the new schools, or continuing to decline in enrollment. what are the sizes of classes coming up. anybody know.

okay apparently all 29 of you know just as much as me. lol.

The OHSAA doesn’t recalculate divisional breakdowns again until 2011. They do this every two years. Ironton will remain in division 4 for the 2010 season. As for 2011 we will have to wait and see, but I would think with the new schools Ironton isn’t going to get any smaller. They might even see a little bit of an increase in the enrollment.

[color=brown:2dxi4wn0]Most of our schools have declined in enrollment over the years and until more jobs come to southeastern Ohio, most schools will continue to shrink in size. [/color:2dxi4wn0]

thanks i knew it was every couple of years . but didn’t know when they did it again, thanks.

Hey Bait I am hearing that your tigers are going to run the table this year. All kidding aside what is your take on the tigers in 2010?

buddy, we have 3 goals every year at ironton, all kidding aside.
go undefeated
make the playoffs
win state.

i’m serious that is what you’re told, that is what you believe and strive for. i cannot say anything less than that is a failure, it’s not.as a player , and now nearly a 50 year old fan. but it sure feels that way as a player. we always played anybody, anywhere, anytime. and strived for nothing less than perfection, one only needs to look at their illustrious playoff career to see how it’s paid off. and we sport the winningest coach in the state of ohio. and ranked in the top 25 nationally. so we are always looking for no number on the right side. but zero’s. sometimes that does not happen obviously. but with that said. i would not be suprised to see the tigers have another very deep run again this winter. always shooting for the stars. bait.

Even when our boy,s played at Nelsonville-York on the 81 State Championship Team I alway reminded them of the goasl my coach set for us.
1 Give 100 % all the time
2 Have fun at what you do
3 In football go 10-0
4 Win the league

These goals was set before the State of Ohio had playoffs!

awesome stuff.

hey bait shouldn’t you guys first goal be beat the burg.

seriously, thats such a close series as well. the burg may not win another for a long time, and by next year, we should be in the same division. just razzin ya buddy.

since the number to be a d4 school was changed last year to 175 to 195 Ironton should be d4 for many years to come. the count was 182 boys in grades 9-12 in 2009, thus Ironton has to compete at d4 at least this coming year. but may not change for many many years.
