Well, the real season is about to begin, and I figure I would start predictions for this game.
Minford has looked good in their 2 warm-ups, leading to this week one matchup. As for the Pointers, I hope they will have their returning starter @ QB after the knee injury in OVC Previews. South Point reminds you of Fairland, in which both teams can spread the ball out and potentially score @ will, but can they make enough stops on defense??
As for my prediction, I will say Minford 48-6(without SP starting QB),= and Minford 39-13 (with SP starting QB).
As I said on the earlier thread, I was pleasantly surprised by Minfords’ O/D line play against Fairland. I think this group of Falcons get the TEAM aspect and will be better than last years group. As far as South Point, many Fairland fans thought they were better than Fairland and it will be a tough game for Minford. I know nothing about the Pointers other than they lost their starting QB, so I will not make any predictions.
Its hard to base predictions on how well a team does in a scrimmage.
Hopefully this Minford team has a chip on their shoulder and a lot to prove this season.
This game could very well come down to the final possession because South Point always has a few really good athletes on their team. I think its close for 3 quarters and then Minford pulls away.
Fairland lost a bunch from last years team, which could score but not defend. The dragons may not win a game. The good news for the falcons is south point without their QB may be just as bad. Look for a 28-0 half time lead. Falcons cruise in this one 42-7
Minford would have won this game with or without Gage Townson playing. They will win by 30+ depending on if the Minford coaches decide to put the second string in or not.
37/14 final. South Point would have won this game with their starting QB. but it is what it is. Adams didn’t do too bad though. He showed great imrovement and will continue to improve! We need to do better the blocking for the running backs! Our defense kept us in this game all night long. I think we had had five turnovers forced! Go Pointers!
5 lost fumbles and one INT is the report I received for a -6. How Minford won this game is also beyond me will all the TOs… Kudos to the defense for bailing the offense out tonight from a -6. Better to get the TOs out of the way the first game I suppose. After all, it’s not like they were playing Ironton or Newark Catholic.
