Each year I like to run this, typically gives a good indication as to which conferences are the the strongest. Of course it’s always a little skewed because sometimes league opponents face each other in the tournament.
I’ll try to update this after each wave of games.
SOC 1:
9-7
Clay 0-1
East 0-1
Green 3-0
New Boston 1-1
Notre Dame 2-1
St. Joe 1-1
Symmes Valley 1-1
Western 1-1
SOC 2:
10-8
Eastern 1-1
Minford 2-0
Northwest 1-1
Oak Hill 0-1
South Webster 1-1
Valley 2-1
Waverly 0-1
West 1-1
Wheelersburg 2-1
MSL-BUCKEYE

MSL CARDINAL
2-2 (0-1 SE District, 1-1 C District, 1-0 E District)
Wins: Rosecrans, Harvest Prep
Losses: Grove City Christian, Miller
Have not played yet: Millersport, Berne Union, Fisher Catholic, Fairfield Christian
MSL OHIO
No SE teams, plus seceding from the MSL next year anyway, so meh.
And for the heck of it since they are local:
New Hope Christian: 1-0 (they play in the OCSAA, not OHSAA).
OVC and SOC 2 are flexing their muscle early and that should continue into this weekend’s sectional finals. For the SOC 2 – South Webster, Eastern, Wheelersburg, Minford, Valley, Northwest all enter their games as the lowest seed. West will be playing Minford.
OVC has Gallia, South Point, Fairland all entering as favorites. Rock Hill, Chesapeake, Ironton all still alive but as the higher of the seeds. Portsmouth also will be playing South Point.
TVC Ohio was down this year and that has shown quickly in the tournament.
There are four SOC 2 teams in the Southeast 1 District and only one in the Southeast 2.
I wish the two district brackets would have been split a little differently. If Minford were to make it to the regional semi, they would have to eliminate 3 of their own conference teams(assuming the SOC 2 teams continue to win).
Being a Minford fan I do not like the idea of having to beat 3 good teams 3 times in one year. The odds are stacked against you in that scenario. However, I guess that’s one way to for sure earn it!
Valley, wheelersburg, and minford all won sectionals and advance. Northwest lost a close one to Lynchburg clay and west went down to soc on soc crime. 3-2 on the night for soc2
