PORTSMOUTH SWEEP WOODEN BAT TOURNAMENT @ WEST

Trojans sweep the wooden bat tournament at West High School today. The first was a 2-1 victory over West Union on the back of a fine pitching performance by Sophomore Ryan Monroe. Ryan Monroe got the win on the mound with relief from Jeremy Scott. In the Second game the Trojans get the win 8-5 over the host West Senators. Jeremy Scott started on the mound in the second game and a good relief appearance by Len Collins. Josh Myers led the offense with a 2 run homer in the 5th. The Trojans are now 15-9 heading into the tournament next week against Chesapeake. That’s an 11 game turn around for a team that only won 4 games all of last year. And hopefully a few more wins come tournament time. Great Job by the young men and coaches on a fine regular season. GO TROJAN IN THE TOURNAMENT!

Congrats to the Trojans on the wins and the great turnaround from last season. Good luck in the tourney, unless of course you face the Pirates .
