… the first week of rankings in the regular season will be officially out after the first full week of games … that puts it at Sunday December the 8th … I always try to get it on SEOPs by 7pm each Sunday … going to be interesting ! some of the pre-season lower ranked teams have posted W’s in the opening weekend of games ie. Minford over North Adams, Waverly over Warren (both NA & Warren in the preseason Elite 8) … Piketon over Whiteoak & Valley , Eastern Pike over Green , Huntington over Nelsonville York , Westfall over McClain … it all adds up to MOVEMENT on the pre-season rankings coming over this week !!! movement in BOTH directions !!!

What a great first weekend of hoops ! went to Zane Trace for 4 games Friday and Piketon for 3 games Saturday - outstanding ! felt great getting the rust off my “napkin stat” keeping LOL … ran into so many folks - great to see everyone of you! seops posters, coaches past and present , met a few of you for the first time - Mike Pike as he did his thing at the scorers table at the Oven in Piketon … UKfanatic - always great to see you and YOU are right about Trey Robertson - he’s the real deal for Waverly as just a sophomore … daniC - always good to take in games with you sitting there keeping me informed as to what I’m seeing LOL , LucasDavenport one of the best on seops … Coaches Kelly, Coach SLegg from Piketon always good to chat with you … Coaches Blane Maddox and Coach Mitchem for Warren along with Mrs. Maddox , Coach Kellough Zane Trace, Coaches Stiverson/Holbert for LE, Coach Scott for Washington CH, Coach Adam Cox for New Boston, Coach Gabriel for NY … even ran into some of the officials we all see every game Chad Jenkins, didn’t get to yell at Keith Throckmorton but he was out there doing his job … Twizzzlers/Water/Hoops & Friends … Life is Good …
My Indians Start next Friday with Fairfield Friday,Paint Valley on Saturday then match up with North Adams away to start the season. Then it’s Eastern Brown and Whiteoak. We will see what the boys have in the next few weeks. Anxious,but optimistic.
Great to see you Pfloyd. Always enjoy our chats. Love fellow basketball Junkies. It is going to take new Boston awhile to get used to playing with each other, but man are they deep. Southeastern played hard and will knock someone off. Trey looked good for Wavely. Bigs played hard. Maddox is such a good coach. Figured out how to slow trey down in second half. Warren is solid and very fundamental. Piketon looked good. Shot a lot of threes but made there share. Was surprised whiteoak didn’t press. I think Piketon will struggle with pressure. All in all a good day in the gym!

I too was surprised that Whiteoak did not pressure more - when I saw them over the summer at the Lynchburg Clay shootout Whiteoak played man to man, pressuring the ball everywhere - getting offense out of their defense - they looked good ! not big in size but soooo quick with their hands an feet … oh well, what do I know LOL - an easy call from the cheap seats , I always defer to the coaches court side …
