We’re heading up that way real soon to see the Beatles tribute band, have some brews, and eat some ribs.
We went on a friend’s boat down there tonight leaving out of Franklin Furnace and after they played we took a slow moon lit cruise back on the river. Didn’t get home till 5:30 this morning. The band was great I thought.
The show was awesome, both musically and visually. Their first set reminded me of their shows they did on the Ed Sullivan Show back in the early 60’s. Then they changed into their Sgt Peppers outfits and did some music from that era. The only complaint I had was they didn’t play Yellow Submarine. I really thought they would do that for the encore. Still an awesome show though, plus good food and ice cold beer. What a great combo!!!
I heard from a buddy that the Eagles tribute band was just as good on Thursday. Great entertainment every year at Rib Fest. I remember seeing 38 Special up there a few years back that was just an awesome show.
I wanted them to play It Don’t Come Easy but I realize that it was a Ringo solo song. While My Guitar Gently Weeps..was FANTASTIC! those guys had great voices. a great concert by a very good tribute band on the river in beautiful weather..and all for five bucks? that was a crazy deal there now
Yeah, for 5 bucks you can’t beat that kind of entertainment. If I’m not mistaken this same band played at the Vern Riffe Center in Portsmouth a few years back and the tickets were like 50 bucks each.
