Game Report Dayton Meadowdale 43 Cincinnati Woodward 00

Last night at Welcome Stadium in Dayton, Ohio Woodward out of Cincinnati entered the stadium 0-1 as did their opponents Meadowdale from Dayton.

The first big play in this contest took place just :51 seconds into the game, Kevon Huguely set the tone for not only his huge night, but his team as well, when he blasted LaJai Williams to set up a third and ten for the road team.

Meadowdale wasted no time getting its offense in gear, with Raleigh Thornton busting off a run of 40 plus yards, with 10:11 left in the first.
The drive would stall when Thornton would be stop on fourth and one by Jerome Davis and #33, who’s name is not in the program.

The games first score came from Charlie Maclin, with 7:57 left in the quarter. The point after kick by Day’mon Tucker was partially blocked to keep the score 6-0 Meadowdale.

Gerwin Engleman would be hit hard by Shamari Treadwell, with 6:30 showing on the clock for a short loss.

The last big play in the opening quarter came with 1:13 left, when Cameron Redd for Meadowdale showed some nice speed as he scrambled for a 8-yard gain.

Redd would connect with Ronald Thompson for a 11-yard gain made possible when, Fanon Vines failed to wrap up the runner.

Mikahal Jackson one of the defensive backs for the Bulldogs knocked away a Redd pass to save a Meadowdale touchdown, with 9:09 left in the half.

Williams would line up for a Woodward punt but he was tackled by a hose of Meadowdale players, with 7:58 left in the half to make this a, 8-0 Meadowdale lead.

Huguely, who I have heard is on the radar of Mt. St Joe out of Cincinnati would get his first pick of the night with, 5:44 left in the half. The pass by Landon Bryant was a terrible throw that Huguely picked easily.

The Meadowdale offense only needed 4-plays to go the 36-yards needed for the score after the pick. The scoring play was Redd pass to Tyree Toney.Tucker increased the Meadowdale lead to, 15-0 with his point after kick.

There would be two more big plays by the Meadowdale defense in the half and both of those was interceptions by Huguely. The third was a nice picked that he leaded high into the air to grab.

Woodward looked to have a nice completion from Bryant to Williams, but Williams was hit hard on the play and fumbled the ball and after the pile was cleared it was Meadowdale who had the ball.

It took the Meadowdale six plays to go 37-yards after the recovered fumble to score again. The scoring play was a nice 18-yard run by Daye’mon Tucker with 7:27 left in the third. Tucker hit the point after kick to make it a 22-0 lead.

The Meadowdale special teams came up huge with 6:29 left in the third, with a blocked punt that was recovered for a touchdown by Jarvis Smith. A two point run by C.J.Williams increased the lead to, 30-0.

The defense for Meadowdale cam e up with nice plays with 4:43 left and then again with 3:45 left in the quarter. The first play came from Shamari Treadwell, who hit Coker for a short loss. The 2nd play came from #88, who name nor number is in the program.

With just two minutes left in the half the lad would grow to, 36-0 when Huguley scored on a 14-yard run.


#88 for Meadowdale would recover a fumble by Bryant and then make a big run on the play after the recovery.

The last score of the game came with 9:27 remaining, when Tucker sprinted in from 32-yards out. Tucker would hit the point after to amke the score, 43-0.
