Gallipolis Gallia Academy was seeded third in south sectional tournament play during Sunday’s high school baseball drawings held at Jackson High School.
Warren Local, 17-3, was seeded No. 1 and Athens, 15-6, was seeded No. 2. Gallipolis 13-6 was seeded No. 3, and Unioto, 14-7 was seeded No. 4.
The top four seeded teams will play home games to start 2010 post-season play.
Waverly, 12-9, was No. 5 seed, Vinton County, 11-12, No. 6, Marietta, 8-12, No.7, Jackson, 8-11, No.8 and Chillicothe, 2-18, No.9.
Post-season play begins on Saturday, May 8 when Jackson takes on Chillicothe in a play-in game. Winner of this game will advance to play No. 1 Warren Local.
Other first round games will begin on Monday, May 10. Athens will play Marietta, Gallipolis will meet Vinton County and Unioto battles Waverly. Home teams will be Waverly, Athens, Gallipolis and Unioto.
Sectional finals will begin on Thursday, May 13. Should GAHS beat Vinton County, the Blue Devils would play the winner of the Athens-Marietta game on Thursday, May 13. That winner would advance to district play which starts at the VA Stadium in Chillicothe on Monday, May 17.
Two teams from the south sectional and two teams from the north sectional will advance to the district meet at Chillicothe.

No. 1, Sheridan, 18-5; No. 2, Greenfield,16-6; No. 3, Circleville, 15-9; No. 4, Miami Trace, 12-8; No. 5, Logan Elm,12-8; No. 6, Hillsboro, 10-6; No. 7, Washington CH, 9-9; No. 8, Fairfield Union, 9-15 and No. 9, New Lexington, 8-11.
Play-in game is Fairfield Union vs. New Lexington.
Other north sectional games are: Miami Trace vs. Logan Elm, Greenfield vs. Washington CH and Circleville vs. Hillsboro.
