Anyone had the cartilage injections for arthritis in the knee?
Were you satisfied with them? How much did your insurance pay? Would you have them again?
My wife’s doctor does not recommend it for her as her cartilage is gone. He said it’s an expensive band-aid, but did not elaborate on the costs. She is 49 and looking to have her knee replaced, but the doctor wants to hold off as long as possible before it do her her age. He doesn’t like to do it to people under 55 unless it is absolutely necessary. But her knee will not last that long. She is currently getting cortisone shots 4 times a year to help with the pain until she gets the surgery.
Sounds like her knees are worse than mine. 4 cortisone shots a year!!! A couple co workers I talked to mentioned the cost also. Neither of them thought it helped them much either.
Had my first injection Tuesday this week. Back for the 2nd next week.
