My top two in the SHL:
Trent Arey-Peebles
Chase Lawson-Eastern Brown
Trey Fletcher of Ironton is a 6-6, 230 LB. beast…he will be a MAJOR player on the Fighting Tigers varsity this year, and to go along with him are about 5-6 other sophomores (6-4 Keith Culbertson, 6-4 Trevor White, 6-1 Dion Brown to name 3) that comprised the BEST freshman class that I have ever seen in 40 years for a school the size of Ironton…also 5-9 Zac Carter started as a freshman on the Ironton varsity last year…he will be one of, if not the top scorer on the Fighting Tigers this year as a sophomore.
Craigen Moore of Piketon is a “Lights out” shooter, played some key varsity minutes as a freshmen. Zak Farmer and Issac Brabson also sophomores will likely log minutes for the Streaks and both to my understanding had a good summer.
Trey Fletcher gets my vote.
Austin McBee - Da Burg.. A very solid point guard in all aspects of the game..
TrojanDave how does the Trojans youngsters match up? Fletcher plays football I assume…he sounds like a beast, make a great Tight end Def end
Let’sGoPSU: The sophomore class at PHS is very weak…as freshmen, they went 0-14 last year…Jacob Cook and Jalen Carter are probably the two best sophomores…the junior class is very good…Seth Bratchett, Dion McKinley, L.J.Adams, Mason Jordan, Lenny Collins, Duke Edwards, Wayne Evans…these kids will make up 7 of the first 9 spots on the varsity.
coming from a true scholar of the game of basketball…should be some good nites ahead in the Conley center…and we still have your seat reserved Dave…front row only… ![]()
Thanks for the kind words, TTT, and I’m sure I’ll see you at the Conley Center to see a great game between your Tigers and my Trojans…this year’s game could be one to remember for a long time…I know there won’t be a shortage of HEAT… ![]()
Zach Johnson of Chillicothe should be given some thought. Great all around athlete. Great size and strength. May be more suited for football in college but is a great basketball player as well.
Irontons Trey Fletcher isn’t playing Football this year to concentrate on Basketball.
thx for the info Dave and Buckeye, hope the younger kids can help out this sophmore class in the future
Fletcher is exceptional at basketball and just focusing on basketball is kinda scary to how tough he will be this year…but I’m not sure his body type and skill set wouldn’t give a higher ceiling in football…but I understand many things go into those decisions and if he feels that strongly about basketball…good for him and good luck.
best sophmore thread? i hoped your name was mentioned. how about best bballer taking Algebra II? Let’s get the juniors involved. seops is all inclusive.
Just wanted opinions. My name wasnt mentioned because i dont play my friend, sorry if i offended you
Zach Frye from West 6’ 3" 190lbs and growing. Going to be a real Force on that Sider Team this year.IMO
Dave i agree the Trojans Sophmore class is very weak. Jayellen Carter,Jacob Cook and Caleb King are really all we have to offer, but all 3 are very good atheletes.
Seth Goddard of SW
You are 100% correct!!! This Kid is a very Quick and Very Aggressive B Player!!! a Tremendous athlete. IMO
