Josh Johnson, 191-pound, 6-0 junior defensive lineman, Eli Miller, 175-pound, 5-9 junior linebacker and Andrew Owens, 184-pound, 5-10 junior linebacker are Gallia Academy High School’s top tacklers following two games this fall.
Johnson had four solos in the Athens game on Aug. 30, five assists and one and a half sacks for 10 and one half-defensive plays and against Rock Hill, he had five solo tackles, eight assists one and a half sacks for 14.5 defensive plays.
Miller had one solo and five assists against Athens for six defensive plays and against Rock Hill, was credited with two solo tackles and 12 assists for 14 stops.
Owens had one solo, six assists for seven defensive plays against Athens and two solos and nine assists against Rock Hill for 11 defensive plays.
Wes Jarrell, Miller and Ty Warnimont each have recovered emery fumbles in two games.
Reid Eastman and Wes Jarrell have two breakup passes apiece while Logan Allison has one.
Allison has two pass interceptions.
Against Athens, GAHS had 15 solo tackles, 42 assists, and two sacks.
Against Rock Hill, the Blue Devils had 29 solo tackles, 109 assists, and two sacks.
