Maybe next year.
8-2 is a good season. I think that if they go 8-2 next year they get in.

Leave the SEOAL go independent play schools your own size even if you have to go out of state.

I have never understood Ohio's reasoning for using "computer points" to determine play-off eligibility. The kids playing the game do not determine their schedules. Why not have head-to-head competition in each district with the winners advancing?

What if you dropped De sales and Jackson and maybe scheduled Fed Hock and Reedsville Eastern. Would 10-0 get you in

Regardless of schedule, overall, Logan had a good year. The only two games they lost were to two of the top D3 teams in the state.

Logan built a schedule with what they could get in the last half of the season when most are in league schedules. and no shame in that. And an 8-2 season is highly successful. Played numerous playoff teams & beat them. Also lost to a playoff team. The point ? As usual, Logan went after games with quality programs in hopes of getting computer points should they win. The biggest failure was not non-league -- it was league as Gallia went 1-9 and Warren 0-10. Those go anywhere at .500 or win a couple of games and Logan was in.

But, the inferiority complex is rearing its ugly head again. Hey, Shadyside (4-6) got in. So did Boardman up here and with a home game for their 6-4 record. But , keep up the good work SEO -- run from competition. As for Logan, next year looks like a decent schedule while still trying to fill out openings in the last half of the season with competition and potential computer points. Never any easy thing to do. But, as most here know, Logan is a decent program and most of SEO avoids them. Enough said.

And now back to your regularly scheduled program for losers.
If Logan had a good schedule they'd be in! They played two good teams and got drilled by both.

I'd like to see if Paladin believes Jackson is one of the top DIII teams in the state? I'm willing to bet he laughs at your statement.

Let's not discredit what the kids did. 8-2 is nothing to sneeze at. Yes they didn't make the playoffs, but they did play hard throughout the year. Let them enjoy the season they had, and quit arguing about the schedule the kids had no control over. They came to practice each day, showed up game day and competed. That's all you can ask a 15-18 year old to do.

I get tired of hearing everyone bashing the bigger schools because they are playing smaller division schools. But then two posts over they are saying you have to play up in your schedule to get in the playoffs. So how do the smaller schools play up if the bigger schools shouldn't play down! It has to go both ways. Logan scheduled what are usually tougher smaller division schools, just so happens this year they weren't so tough. Enough whining about Logan playing smaller division schools.

Everyone can discuss schedule all you want these kids should be proud they played tough and finished with an 8-2 record. Can talk this team or that team not winning any games when they thought they should've. If you are a logan fan you're blaming it on teams for not winning games for you, as I look at it if you beat Desales or Jackson you're in. No complaining this team isn't the first nor will it be the last not to make the playoffs with a solid record, seen it a lot in before playoff expansion went to 8 teams. I believe Lucasville Valley had teams going undefeated in the 90's but wasn't making the playoff in the old 4 team system. I will say though usually don't see teams finishing 8-2 not make it very often any more but with the points they had would've only made the playoffs in 1 of the 4 regions in division 2 and there's were quite a few teams finish 7-3 not make it and a couple 7-3 teams had more points. So no complaining be proud you were 8-2 but don't blame other teams for not making it finish 9-1 and prove you deserve the spot. Harsh reality that's just how it is though.

Logan couldn't beat the bigger teams or schools their size so they run from the likes of Lancaster and add D7 schools. Go 8-2 and are sitting at home.

Like everyone else has said, generally Shadyside is a dominant school even for D7. Logan did not run from Lancaster, both schools decided to not play anymore, so get off your high horse. Correct they couldn't beat DeSales or Jackson, nobody else in SE Ohio or anywhere else could beat them either (except Wheelersburg).

They drop Shadyside and Gallia (leaving the league) next year and add Dublin Jerome (D1) and Hamilton Ross (D3), really increasing strength of schedule. By the way, saying Logan needs to play schools their size like Lancaster (which many people say), is crazy. Lancaster has hundreds more kids at their school than Logan.

I.M.O. It seems that Logan might need to try being an independent in football. That way they could, if they wanted schedule teams their own size and bigger, if they think they could compete with them.

Drilled by both? I beg to differ. 35-21 is way off from being drilled even with your best back going down early. I'll agree on getting drilled by De Sales. Nothing against Jackson though, they played tough and was ready.
