The London scrimmage today starts at 5 o'clock

I know it was a first scrimmage but how did the Burg look tonight?

I can't believe no one has a word to say good or bad about last nights scrimmage. I do believe interest is fading for Burg football.

I saw it. Burg looked pretty good. Neither team showed much. London runs a wing T offense. Burg defense was basic but controlled the line of scrimmage. Burg run offense is their strength.

Burg won as far as scores but hard to tell because it was scrimmage format. Kids coming in and out constantly on both sides. I think burg is better overall than last year but not sure how much better.

They also have a boat load of kids. There had to be like 70+

Defense was pretty good. I thought the secondary did well. Playing a passing team. Raceland looks like a solid passing team, so that was encouraging.

Offensively burg wasn’t as sharp. Not sure how aggressive Raceland was going into it defensively but there were assignments missing in blocking but Raceland had the same issue it seemed. So it may be just coaching moments early for both teams. I was encouraged by what I saw but it’s early. Burgs coaching typically cleans up pretty quick. I think they will give Ironton a solid game.

Burg did nothing offensively. Crossed the fifty one time and that was on Jones 70yard td run. Raceland did well controlling the line of scrimmage defensively. Burg missed almost every blitz that raceland threw at them. I think the pirates defense is solid. Right side corner needs quite a bit of work but over all the defense is solid. Not sold on the web decision either. I remember a few years ago the burg benched an all state qb to take a chance on a kid with zero varsity experience. Maybe they need to do something of the same this season.

Not saying you’re wrong on the cb but I thought he did well for only being a sophomore. The freshman qb has been impressive as well but it’s been against jv defenses also. As you said though…wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened.

I think we owe it to the coaches to work through whatever they need to and trust their decisions. Taking last years team to where they got should be pretty good indication of how good they really are.

Definitely, and you’re right. If they fill they need to, they will.
