TOUGH wrote: Fri Jun 22, 2018 3:48 pm You win games on the line of scrimmage. Wheelersburg is replacing 4 starters on o line and all 4 down lineman.... Remeber that. The young kids at ironton got a lot of valuable experience last year due to injuries ect. Irontons skill guys will be just as good as Wheelersburg’s overall trust me. I wouldn’t be surprised if Ironton doesn’t have the best player on the field come August😳😳😳😳😳😳😳.
Maybe not everyone is aware. I assumed they were. Burg replaces starters every year. They love to start Seniors. For example going into last year's State Championship team. They started with a new DE,DT,DE. On Offense they went into the season with first time starters at C,LG,RG,&RT. Now these were all seniors of course. Which is exactly what they will be doing again this year up front. Juniors on last year's team that would have started anywhere else in the county. Including Wheelersburg in other years . So those young men played last year, and played a lot due to the many blow outs. I'm not going to buy the idea of Burg being down because of replacing starters. That is laugh out loud funny. I honestly thought Burg would overlook this Ironton team. But some of you fans wouldn't let that happen. LOL. now you are going to make me drive up north to watch a legit matchup instead of this P.O.'d Burg team proving a point. New prediction Burg 42-7. Rest a few players in second half for week 2 matchup in Columbus.
THAT'S THE KIND OF TALK THAT GET'S TEAMS UPSET. I DON'T EXPECT TO SEE ANYTHING LESS THAN A HARD FOUGHT EFFORT AND A MORE DISCIPLINED TEAM EFFORT OUT OF THE FIGHTING TIGERS AGAINST A SUPERIOR, MORE EXPERIENCED DEFENDING STATE CHAMPION. BUT I CAN PROMISE YOU THEY WON'T ROLL IN THERE SCARED OR THINKING ABOUT PREVIOUS MATCHUPS. IRONTON STILL LEADS THE SERIES AND THEY'LL BE WORKING HARD TO TRY TO MAINTAIN THAT.

WHEN YA'LL FALL IT WILL HURT. I ONLY HOPE IT'S TO IRONTON. AT LEAST OUR TEAM AND FANS ARE CLASSY ENOUGH TO SHOW THE LACK OF RESPECT THAT BURG POSTERS SHOW HERE. THIS POST IS AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF THAT. EVERYBODY AROUND THESE PARTS KNOWYOU HAVE THE SUPERIOR TEAM RIGHT NOW. BUT THIS KIND OF STUFF IS CLASSLESS, AND MAKES EVERY COMMUNITY WANNA GIVE THE PIRATES A SUPERBOWL TYPE EFFORT TO UPSET THEM. AND THEN I HOPE HARTLEY HANDS YOU THEIR BEST EFFORT AS WELL. TO HEAR YOU BURGITES TALK YOU'LL BE SO EXHAUSTED FROM SCORING TOUCHDOWNS IN AN EFFORT TO GET A RUNIN CLOCK, YOUR LEGS WILL BE SHOT FOR THE HARTLEY GAME. I HOPE BOTH ARE SLUGFESTS. IF BURG BEATS IRONTON, I'M SURE WE'LL BE CLASSIER IN DEFEAT THAN YA'LL ARE IN VICTORY.

what in tarnation do you expect. our biggest game is right outta the gates, and you want coach Pendleton announcing what offense he is implementing. First off there CAPTAIN CAPITALS, unless I’m mistaken this site is about discussing sports/games and some friendly trash talking. Secondly, I have been around this rivalry for a long time and when Ironton was consistently coming out on top Burg fans had to listen to comments from Tiger fans. It’s not classless, just part of it. So maybe thicken that skin a little MR SHOUTY CAPS. Thirdly, 57 days.

touchy crowd, never have I ever seen a post from a tiger fan saying we'll put a running clock on anyone, or show a lack of respect to an opponent like you few posters do here. I've seen plenty of posts back in the day about confidence, but not a complete lack of respect for an opponent, or a long time rival. deal with it, I didn't say it ya'll are. but that's what makes sports great. butter yer ego's and put on a smiley face.

This game is two months away, I have no idea who will win,
but I will say that the Burg will not win 52-0. I think that the
game will be closer than the last years, but that's my opinion.

They didn’t have the running clock rule back 12 years ago. So yea, technically you’re right.

LOL, I expected better than that tiger. What did you think they were going to compete in 7-7, have 2 scrimmages and walk into burg and think their scheme was going to be a surprise??? That's hilarious, try to spur a decent conversation and realize now not quite the great information that everyone has said. Would rather talk about transfers and crap. Good luck trying to hide the offensive and defensive schemes in 2018. May have worked 25 yrs ago but now, very disappointed in that response given the source especially. Been better off saying no idea

That's a shame the biggest game is right out the gate. Guess those other 9 games mean nothing, so if you win week 1, and finished 1-9 is that a successful season? I would think if ironton found itself with a shot at the league championship that would be the biggest game. Maybe for ironton it is the biggest game which is a shame as the rest of the season is a let down then. For us outsiders and burg it's week 1, every game is your biggest game. Some games you circle on the schedule and say that's one we really need to take to make our season this isn't that game. Ironton needs to focus on the league and take baby steps

thank you for thinkin for me my friend.you didn't do too well though. maybe you are constipated. obviously burg is the stiffest test, and happens to be the very 1st game. it will be a hard game right outta the chute. but could be a great measuring stick. a coach's best work a lot of times happens between week 1 n 2. of course all of the games are big. no one said anything about the rest of the season being a letdown but you. and that's not a reflection of my thoughts at all. and what team does not come out trying to beat their hardest competition , and win their league. if you ain't trying to do that take up checkers. and if you think the soc is any tougher than the ovc you'd be wrong. they are mirror images of each other. the key to burg is they are now scheduling very stiff out of conference opponents. and obviously last year that paid huge dividends. ironton has an aggressive out of conference schedule as well with burg, Ashland and Russell. but nothing like the days of old with the wattersons, Hartley's n capes n desales and Johnson centrals n belfry's. but you are right about 1 thing we need to take one step at a time, n who knows what that will get you. actually you have to take it one play at a time with a new system n coaching staff. but I appreciate your amusing effort to think for me, but don't quit yer day job hoss.

SOC and OVC are mirror images? In what ways? Go back and look at the past 10 years of SOC/OVC matchups. I think you’ll be surprised by your findings.

LOL, lost your way buddy? Think everyone on here has worn you down now you just lash out when it's not going your way. You said you have your "biggest" game right out of the gate, your words not mine, thus minimizing all others. Spin it how you want them Ironton fans don't care, you said burg, week 1 is your biggest game. OVC and SOC mirror images?
