Taking into consideration the long bus ride I'll take the Panthers in a close game.

This game reminds me of a few years ago when Paint Valley hosted Tuscarawas Central Catholic. Most thought TCC was the better team all the way around. However, PV got TCC on the ropes and TCC lost there composure and PV gets the win. I kinda see this game the same. If Southeastern can stay close and get into the head of SCC things could go the way SE wants and get a win. But, I think Steubenville Central Catholic is the favorite.

To beat SCC you have to come at them and wear them down. They are big but they only have 3 good lineman that get tired easily.

Qb Justin Hartzel is a track guy very fast. RBs Levi Thompson and Craig Smith have had big years. Thompson is really good at end. Like I said Fort Frye was up on them 43-6 in the 2nd. You just got to stop the run and make them pass. They are fast but they play way better on turf. Like I also said they are (0-3) on grass and (0-3) in road trips of 2 or more hours.

This could end being the best game in 23 the first round.

That's been SE's MO all year. They're a 2nd half team. That running game wears down opposing defenses, and they start to get the big runs in the 2nd half.

Just curious, SCC is looking at a 3 hour bus ride each way. OHSAA lists kickoff at 7:30. Are those boys going home Friday night? Win or lose, that has to be a tough trip!

Last week they took a 2 1/2 hour drive to Beverly. I don’t think they stayed anywhere after the game. They did take charter busses.

You have to make the Crusaders pass. Can’t let Hartzell, Smith and Thompson have success running the ball.

Yea, SE doesn't like to pass, but they can. A lot of people forget or don't realize that this is the first year for SE as a double wing team. They were more of a spread team last year, so they have that in the playbook. They scored a big TD at the end of the 1st half against Unioto when they went spread and moved the ball down the field quickly. If Ruby was taller, they would be a really good passing team, unfortunately his size causes them to have to move the pocket, and he makes a lot of throws on the run.

Fort Frye had success running on them and they are a double wing team as well.
