I guess Jackson should be the favorite based on recent head to head matchups.

Think VC will have a few players resting during this game, but then Jackson could pull a Alexander.

Actually the WKOV broadcast is being streamed. Just log onto dbkmediaservices.com and click on the Current Live Broadcast tab. I'm guessing the game will start around 7:45.bradvcfan wrote:Game on 96.7 WKOV. No stream

Tall, tall challenge for Jackson. I would like to see it within reach at halftime and not a complete blowout at the end.
Hard to man up the Vikings. Whoever is on Yates really can't help....but Jones and Speakman can hit as well.

VC wins this. Jackson doesn't have the horses to keep up.

Re: vc @ Jackson 1/31/2017
Jackson had their chances. Sounds like it was a thriller in the 2nd half.

darn
56-53....Donaldson got a decent look at the buzzer and it looked good but just long in the end.
Hell of an effort. Proud to be an Ironman.
Good Luck to Coach Combs and VC the rest of the way.

Jackson out scores VC 22-5 in the 3rd quarter, holds VC to 23 second half points and still can't win...that's gotta be a tough pill to swallow for the iron men.
Re: vc @ Jackson 1/31/2017
Not tough at all. Jackson was down almost 20 at at half and scrapped back . Alota of teams would've folded and called it a game . Jackson is gritty like their coach, they are for sure a program on the rise

Played their best game of the year against the best team in our schedule. They left it on the court...should be walking tall and proud.WellstonLover wrote:Jackson out scores VC 22-5 in the 3rd quarter, holds VC to 23 second half points and still can't win...that's gotta be a tough pill to swallow for the iron men.

Wow, what a game from the Ironmen. They stopped a lot of VC's dribble drive penetration on a night VC didn't shoot very well. Great props to them. Not many teams can keep Bartoe out of the paint.

Sounds like a great game! Coach Morrow will have the Ironmen on the winning side of things sooner rather than later. A little tournament run out of them wouldn't shock me one bit.

Mark my words, Jackson is going to be very good! I don't know much about that league they are entering, but I can see them competing right-a-way for a league title. They have a lot of young talent, shooters, bigs, and decent role players that will gut you out effort. An outstanding young coach who works his butt off, coaches, fund raises, scouts, and he is a hometown boy to boot, Jackson has a great opportunity to make plenty of noise in the future.
My concern is that Jackson can't always stay out of its own way. For example, as I was leaving the game last night I heard several Jackson fans express their dislike and disappointment in Coach Morrow, saying things like; "...the stage was too big for him..." and "...he doesn't know what he is doing..." and "...they should have won..." or my personal favorite, "...Vinton County won because Combs handled the refs better..."
Anyway, my point is if the naysayers, nincompoops, and narcissistic agenda makers, shut up and sit down, and not call the district office every time they are "offended" you may have a coach that last longer than two years. Heck, in ten to fifteen years, I can see him being the caliber of coach that Coach Combs is right now, that being 280 wins, bunch of league titles, sectional and district championships.
But leave it to you guys, at some point you will allow some hairdresser to run him out of town.
