For the record. Techno-skullduggery in baseball. St. Louis stealing cyber scouting reports and emails from Houston. The Redbirds fined 2 million, forfeit two draft picks, and have a former exec banned from baseball for life. There was a time when the only theft in baseball besides stealing bases was stealing signs.

There Is No Crying (Hacking) In Baseball

They should take 10 wins away from the Cards next year and the next 3 years. Losing draft picks is no big deal in baseball.

What does this have to do with money? LOL.
And farmer, draft picks are a huge deal to a team like the Cardinals who constantly build through their farm system. Half of their active payroll comes directly from their Amateur Drafts, while around 25% of the Reds comes from their Draft. It is a big deal for the Cardinals...but a way to make it a bigger deal would be to take away the rights of the players whom they got the information on to draft them when all of this was happening.

One to two draft pics a year can be worked around. Yes they build by the draft but also bundle picks to get a player. Taking 10 wins puts the in a difficult position to go to the playoffs each year or even picking up players to make a difference. Besides the average of high round picks actually making the MLB Roster is not to high.
