That was a crazy game, Josiah Fryman pitched 6 innings of shutout ball. Apparently, St. Clairesville loves right handed pitching, scoring 15 runs in 3 innings. B/L hit the ball well but left too many runners on base early in the game or this would not have gone the distance.

Cambridge at home for a DH, could get interesting with the pitching late in the day. I have heard that we lost Lance Wheppler for the season due to a shoulder injury.

Yes losing Lance leaves a big hole in the pitching staff.
These young men will have to step up & get er done...

B/L took two from Cambridge today.

11-6 first game with Tyler Stevens getting the complete game win.

9-7 second game with chad Stengel going five inn. for the win .
Evan Brockmeier closing out the last two innings.

Bats sure came alive today, with lots of balls hit right on the nose...

Bats really did come to life this weekend, still leaving runners on base that would put games away.

The boys played well over the weekend, unfortunately only those who were there know this because neither the local paper or TV saw fit to do a story.

Did B/L win last night, or get rained out?

B/L will be without the services of Evan Brockmeier for a week because he has been invited to play with Team Ohio in Oklahoma. Goodluck E!

Sure hope the field will be ready for the game tonight vs. Coshocton.
Had half inch of rain this am, but sun and breeze this pm should make field playable.
Game time 6:00 at Beverly.

B/L dropped two tough ones to Post 33 today...2-0 and 6-4. Good pitching performances from Chad Stengle, Evan Brockmeier and Brandon Starr, but they were wasted because the bats never got going til the last 2 innings of game 2. Base running mistakes also cost RBI opportunities. Coach Engle is still playing with line ups and will have the boys playing well when it counts.

St. Clairesville comes to Beverly for 2 games tomorrow.

B/L split with St Clairesville today. Top hitters for B/L were Trey Engle (3 hits, HR), Tyler Spence (3 hits) and Tyler Stevens (3 run HR). Brandon Starr pitched 5 great innings for the win in game 2 with Stevens coming in to get the save.

Zanesville comes to Beverly Tuesday.

B/L has been having trouble scoring lately. They dropped a six inning 4-3 decision to Coshocton and split with Cambridge 5-6 and 5-3. Record is now 10-9. Scott Pettit hit his 3rd dinger.

Going to Red/Indians game as a team tomorrow then have a single game scheduled for Sunday in the Cleveland area.

B/L scored three runs in the first inning on only one hit vs. Hilliard at the Lancaster Legion tourney.
That was all the runs they got in the 7-3 loss.
Lots of runners on base, but couldn't get them in.
They play Marysville tomorrow at 1:30.
Games played at Beaver field (about half mile past Lancester high, school on the left.)
