Your posts are getting old. The Trojans are in total and complete rebuild of the program. You keep posting about runs and issues. The biggest issue is the Trojans are playing a varsity schedule with JV players. The avg age of the lineup is 15.5 years old. Yeah..you read that correct. The avg age of these kids is 15 and a half years old. Most JV teams are older than that. These kids are often heavily overmatched. Just watch the game and watch the program get rebuilt. You’ll appreciate it in a couple years.
Kind of wondering how that is possible on the average age of the lineup. I’d guess a lineup of 9 freshman being about 15 and a couple months average. I’d also guess if you had 9 freshman I’d guess a couple may still be 14 but I’d guess a couple are either 16 or very close as kids are always being held back it seems anymore. Regardless they sound like they are super young. Poster above said 8 juniors/seniors. I’ll guess they are low on experience and coach maybe just going with the younger kids.
My guess would be 16 or 16.5. We have 3 freshman. Started with 4 and 1 quit the other day. 4 seniors who are 18 or close to it. 4 juniors. I know 3 of them are 17 and 1 going to be 18 in May. 4 sophomores. 2 I think are 16. We are young. But only 3 freshMan. So most of you’re team was there last year. We are young. It’s early still. If you’re rebuilding I’d have a different lineup if areas didn’t work. Win every game or lose every game I’ll be there to support.

He did say in the lineup...so he was meaning those particular players. You sure there are only 3 freshman? I heard from a fairly reliable source that the other day they had a freshman pitching, catching, SS and CF. That’s 4 at arguably the four most important positions

Yep just 3 and they all play. Shortstop and pitches. He’s going to be a very good pitcher,1 outfielder and 1 catcher. The 4th was a pitcher and he looked like he was going to be pretty good too. Not sure why he left. 4 seniors, 4 juniors, 4 sophomores and 3 freshman. 1 sophomore out for the year. Had a football injury.

Maybe my numbers are skewed a little as I was figuring it up during the Valley game with a freshman in the mound. Another pitcher could change that a little. And I was only figuring the lineup on the field. And truthfully age wasn’t the point I was trying to get across. The team is rebuilding and someone wants to make passive aggressive posts about wins, runs, etc. It’s a Very Young team going through a complete rebuilding process. The results aren’t the important factor. Watching these kids improve through May and over the next couple years is what it’s about.

Portsmouth has 3 seniors with zero varsity experience so essentially they are freshmen
