Great turnout at the high school gym to welcome home the team and the DIII state championship trophy!! Just guessing, there was around 300 people in attendance.

that is a great article...me being from south webster and knowing the rivalries my school had when i played, and knowing the rivalries wheelersburg has had with other local schools in all sports it really makes you step back and be proud for wheelersburg. on the field in the heat of competition everyone wants to win, wheelersburg has proven time and time again that they are the better team in all aspects nearly every season, glad to see they finally got what they earned and deserved!!

On behalf of the Portsmouth community I would like to congratulate Coach Mike Estep and the Wheelersburg Pirates on this outstanding acccomplishment.. Having played baseball at Portsmouth High School as well as Post 23 American Legion with Mike, it brings me great pride to see him bring a state title to Scioto County.
