RIP: The Red Wall at Minford
Re: RIP: The Red Wall at Minford
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? How much of the wall was ripped down? I'm sure insurance will take care of it. Any damage to the football stadium? I know that you guys put alot of money into that place.

I really hope the Minford schools and baseball program get to keep the red wall because it was a classic. I loved going out the M'town and watching high school and Legion games. Hopefully, insurance will cover and it can be rebuilt.

Re: RIP: The Red Wall at Minford
That is good news to hear, glad the entire wall will be in play during baseball season this year.
Re: RIP: The Red Wall at Minford
Hopefully, it will be ready for the opener on March 30 against Zane Trace.
Then again, ZT won't be able to hit the ball that far anyway.

There was part of a tree on that section of the wall from the ice storm and a large branch or branches on the warning track. I just wonder if that is what weakened it to start with and then the wind finished it off? Good to hear it will be repaired soon.

A whole 260 feet or whatever that is. A good chance to fix the dimensions.
A great field except for that part.

huh? The dimensions are deceiving as the field plays longer that posted on the wall. If I'm not mistaken dead CF is 335 to the wall and another 20' to clear it. LCF at 360' and 20' to clear. Not much differrent than most HS fields.
Isn't ZT 360' to dead CF?
Re: RIP: The Red Wall at Minford
Yeah, 360 to center and the Pioneers won't be able to hit that far this year.
Zane Trace will probably bunt a lot this year.
The Red Wall will be out of play anyway in the first game of the year.

LOL You my bunt it but the wind will still take it out at the launch pad.lol
In 9 years of coaching in the SVC I have never seen a ZT not Free swing.
Ron Allen doesn't know how to teach Bunting.lol
Did he get a new assistant to teach bunting.

I hope that Coach Martin and his staff can repair the wall.
He has turned that place into a beautiful place to play baseball.
Tons of credit goes to him.
bengalsfan, small ball in Kinnikinnick in 09.

Did not know that Coach Allen could pronounce "Small Ball". (lol)
I am positive to say, bunting is not in his vocabulary.
He had to get bunting out of the dictionary???

Re: RIP: The Red Wall at Minford
Rumor has it the cleanup is just about finished and reconstruction supposed to begin this week or next.
i'm glad to see them putting up the big wall again. Great field and BIG RED gives that place character.

we thought about that but the only thing is could that limb weaken 200 foot of the wall?
Re: RIP: The Red Wall at Minford
Hope the wall does get rebuilt close to what it was. It made the already beautiful facility even better.
