Looking forward to another great season of volleyball. Can Waverly claim their third straight league title? (Shared with South Webster two years ago) How does your team expect to fare this season? Good Luck to all the teams!

Waverly over Piketon in three. Piketon looks much improved this year and will surprise some teams. Lot's of new faces playing for Waverly. The Tigers should only get better as the season progresses.

Lots of new faces? Waverly didn't lose many. But, the ones they lost were significant.Have some younger players beaten out older ones?

We had one starter out because of a health concern. Another starter from last year is no longer attending Waverly and two of last year's starters were lost to graduation. Several players that saw significant time last night played JV last year. But I believe the JV team only lost one match last season.

The Tigers won both matches. The scores were rather close in most games and Clay did win one game 25-21. Waverly is at Minford tonight. Anyone know how the falcons are doing this year?

It will be interesting to see how well the Tigers play once they have all the players back. We have yet to see them play as a whole team other than at the SSU Spikefest. They beat Athens and played against Eastern Pike in the championship. Eastern beat them in the final set. They have the potential to do very well.

With Minford defeating South Webster at home 3-2, evens their record to 2-2, 1-1

Waverly went 2-1 in the Athens invitational. No shame in that...Losing the only match (first of the year) to host Athens.Did you see any of the games toast? If so,how did they look?

No, I didn't make it over. Sounds like some really good competition. I'll probably only go to their home games and hopefully end of the year tournament games.

There were some very good teams at the Athens invitational. Waverly is a work in progress with all the changes they have had to endure. They beat Warren and Huntington and lost to Athens in the championship. They have beat Athens and Athens have beat them. It will be interesting to see how DII plays out. They have went to the district finals the last two years. We will see if they can do it again.

Wheelersburg may not be the "class of the SOC" or be "pounding" everyone, but they are quietly 8-1 (6-0) and having a good year. Big game next week against Waverly will likely go a long way to deciding the SOC champion this year.

It looks like Waverly hasn't missed a beat with a new coach this year! I got to see Waverly play early in the season and they have a complete team. With two nice young middles, a good libero, and a terminator on the outside I can see why they are continuing their winning ways. I can't really comment on the 'Burg as I only saw a little bit of them at the Unioto Invite. I saw them at the very end lose to Wash CH but I could tell they had some players on that team. With both teams losing only one match so far on the year, both to quality teams ....Athens for Waverly, WCH for the Burg, look for this match to be worth every penny of that 5 dollas you're going to spend to watch it! Good luck to both teams!

As I said toast, Waverly looks to be the class of the soc 2 again this year.Unless they have a total collapse I don't see anything less than a 2 seed in the draw.Congrats to them!
