Who wins D2 Chillicothe Districts

Post by warrior90 »

Who do you tink comes out of the Chiilicothe districts?? I think Marietta and Waverly have the inside tracks but Fairfield Union could repeat. Close sectional matches should be Warren / Athens and Gallia / Unioto. Thoughts??

We shall see.
Court house is for real,
Waverly is very good
Westfall will be in the hunt
and Unioto can play with anybody
Marietta and fairfield sound solid
As well. Should make for some good
Games.

Some tough predictions.....

Court House vs Unioto in the district semis is a toss up with me

I'll pick Marietta over Westfall

I'm going to go with Marietta....but none of those 4 would surprise me at all.

On the other side....

I'll take Waverly over the Sheridan/LE winner, but both are upset worthy as the top of the district proved last year.

Fairfield Union vs Athens is another toss up as both went to the regionals last year....If money was on the line I guess FU and I think the winner of this defeats the Waverly side winner.

So my guesses are Marietta and Fairfield Union....with a part of me having trouble picking against Athens.

Very tough to predict and should be incredibly competitive.

I wanna see some other predictions because I'm guessing they weren't right last year at all.

Im not predicting anything.
The team I predicted to finish 5th in the SVC.
Won the league so my jimmy the Greek
Card has been revoked for the rest of the season.

I will say this Unioto can beat any team in this district
but could also lose to any team in this district.
This tournament will go along way in what to expect
From the Sherman's for the next two years.

My Predictions:

Chillicothe 1
Fairfield Union over Waverly

Chillicothe 2
Marietta over Unioto

Waverly has been strong all year. Fairfield Union beat Athens by significant margins last week. Hope I'm wrong, would like to see Athens win the district.

Marietta, good coaching and reasonably tough schedule.

Athens may have the most impressive scores for this round of play....but every game now in D2 is nearly a toss up

Marietta survived the most as VC is a tough matchup for them.

How did the match go, do you know the number of sets and scores? I have been trying to get a handle on what kind of team Marietta is. By their record they look strong but I am unfamiliare with many of the teams they play. I have also been told that many of the teams they play come frome confrences that are so strong any one of their teams would dominate in southeastern ohio. Then I see where they lost early this season to Vinton County who went 3-7 in the TVC and I am fully aware of what talent runs there. I just cant get a solid read on Marietta, what kind of team are they?

Athens looked tough last night. Warren made them look even better by giving up. It was the most lack luster performance I have ever seen. Several comments about "now it is basketball season" were made and that is how several of the players played. Maybe next years seniors will have more desire than this years.

Marietta won in 3 but they were close. Mariettatimes.com has an article. Marietta is a tough machup for anyone in the district. They have solid hitters and good back row play. Blocking is the key for Marietta. If their blockng is on they are really tough. They really a well disciplined team.

This was definitely a different Warren team then I have seen in the past. They have always shown excellent skills, mental toughness, and energy when they play ---- the skill set is still there, but for whatever reason it just seemed like the other two things were missing.

Agree wholeheartedly. They showed some energy in a few games this year, but the mental toughness and leadership was not there.

Esully.....VC beating Marietta early was surprising...but true as they were right on them it appears all 3 games. I know it is different in a scrimmage but in the quad at Zane Trace Vinton Co was very competitive with WCH and Zane Trace.

As for Marietta....they are well coached and their play makes them pretty much mirror that of Waverly IMO. Again, a scrimmage but we were at Waverly with them and Marietta and they just looked like the same team.
