Unioto, solid program with success in the post season.
Zane Trace, solid program with success in the post season.
Southeastern, 2nd year as a varsity program with some nice athletes and seem to be going in the right direction.
Adena, started soccer several years ago and is playing a varsity schedule similar to Southeastern.
Piketon, has had soccer since 01', the program had success until around 07' then struggled. Actually had no varsity team a couple of years ago and now has a coed team.
Westfall, right now a club team with potential to move to a varsity schedule.
Huntington and Paint Valley no soccer programs.

Soccer like football is a numbers driven sport. It competes against football, cross country and golf. If you notice the teams that are successful they are larger schools with strong economic and family units Unioto and ZT. Southeastern is growing quickly and will be one of the larger schools in the SVC as well. Schools like PV, Huntington, Piketon and Adena all struggle with numbers and will for the foreseeable future.

If you have 5 schools, with a potential to add a 6th soon, why not recognize it as a league sport? In today's economy it would cut down on travel if each team played the others twice in the season. Unioto and Zane Trace may not be crazy about the competition level though and it would be a 2 team battle for the league title each year.

Should we really have an svc sport with coed teams involved? I think the YMCA is the place for coed sports. Dont get me wrong Zane Trace and Unioto are competitive. Coed in and of itself reaks of recreational and noncompetitive.

The "coed" teams that you speak of are essentially boys teams that allow girls to tryout because there aren't enough girls for their own team or the school hasn't approved a girls team.
I understand that there are probably a few exceptions to this, but in most cases this is the case.
Waverly for example has been a premier "boys" soccer program for the past 10 years and has played with a beaten many of the top teams around. They are "coed" and usually have anywhere from 3-8 girls on the squad, most of which play on a JV team but on the rare occasion have a girl or two skilled, strong, and fast enough to play and compete at the highest level with the boys.
Tennis used to be the same until the past few years as most teams around only had 1 "boys" team that was coed.

State rules state that teams are boys or girls. There is no co-ed division. If a school didn't have enough for a girls basketball program then that girl could play on the boys team. Girls can also play football in the state of Ohio on boys teams.

Heard from a pretty reliable source yesterday that Southeastern will be fielding a girls team next season making 3 girls teams in the SVC. Welcome and good luck to Kendra Dalton and the Panthers !

Would Unioto and Zane Trace benefit from having to play these coed teams twice yearly? I think not

Why is there a need for a "league?"

A school can still get under the agreement with others to play to cut down on travel. High school conferences/leagues really have no impact on ANYTHING in soccer. It allows a school to get a little banner, plaque, trophy, or some other ornament. Why have them?

Like bulldawg22 stated, some teams do not benefit from having weak teams in the conference/league. Wait until they get a little more competitive, then start playing them. Until a conference/league championship means something, they are worthless. They don't even have an impact on sectional/district pairings. Maybe if you allowed a certain amount of teams to get into sectionals/districts, then go ahead and have a conference/league. Make it meaningful to have. Teams that finish last maybe shouldn't have a postseason chance...how about that?
