That’s amazing. But shows the difference between schools that can and those what wish they could. But each year it really comes down to about a handful of teams that are perennial contenders.

The saying "It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" comes to mind.

There are many programs that have never been to a regional finals game, let alone 9.

Agree. It’s better to have been invited and danced than not to have been invited. But how sweet the first time will be...

Hats off to Hiland. Great coach and program. It’s not easy always meeting up with the central district. Many state champions came out out of the central district. Gview Hts could be the next. If Manny Day keeps eating his Wheaties then they will for sure!

Avoided visiting for a few days but thanks for the kind comments by several posters.

Saturday's game was especially tough, because despite the 0-3 scoreline Hiland actually outshot GH. 0-9 certainly isn't a fun stat but we are proud to have been there 9 times and largely have acquitted ourselves well.

1998- 2-3 pks
1999- 0-1
2001- 1-2 pks
2006- 0-2
2007- 2-3 2Ot
2010- 1-2
2012- 2-4 (4th goal scored with minute left)
2013- 0-2
2018- 0-3

Lose 6 senior starters but have a solid younger crew returning. Rosecrans will be the favorite to win our district probably next year with 9 starters returning- almost all of them will be seniors.

Dayton Christian beat Grandview Hts 3-2 in State Semi-Final on Wednesday night.
Grandview Hts jump out to a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes on 2 goals by Manny Day. Dayton Christian scores a goal with 2.3 seconds left in the 1st Half to cut the lead to 2-1. Also, Dayton Christian changed the match momentum with the goal. Dayton Christian tied up the match with about 32 minutes left. The game winning game with 9 minutes left in the match- Dayton Christian attached the goal and the ball deflected off the Bobcats goalies hand and rolled into the goal.
Summation of the match was Grandview Hts controlled the 1st half til the goal Dayton Christian scored with 2.3 left in 1st match. The 2nd half had Dayton Christian playing much more aggressive and put pressure on the Bobcats defense most the half. Grandview Hts had a difficult time attaching the Dayton Christian end of the field the 2nd half. Dayton Christian had 2 people on Manny Day the whole 2nd half and played very physical on him which effected his effectiveness. Good Luck to Dayton Christian on Saturday playing Archbold for the State Championship.
Great year by the Bobcats. Grandview Hts graduates 4 off the team but will have to find offense to replace Day's 50 goals he scored this year.
