Chillicothe has 2 in U-17 State Cup Semi's

Post by wildeyes7679 »

The Eagles and the Metro FC Rapids soccer teams are 2 of only 4 teams remaining in this years U-17 "State Cup" tournament sponsored by the Ohio South Youth Soccer Association. The Eagles team, out of the Columbus area, features Chillicothe Cavalier Tony Skowronek while Cavalier team mate Drew Basil is a member of the Metro FC Rapids who play out of Kettering. Basil is joined on the Rapids by Unioto midfielder, Darian Lopez. The teams are in opposite brackets and could possible meet in next Sundays finals if both are able to get through the semi final matches on Saturday. Eagles will play defending State Cup champions; Team Ohio while Metro will take on 08 finalist Cincinnati United Premier. Congratulations to both teams, good luck next weekend; maybe we will have an all Chilly final!

Also know that Blast FC was playing today... any word on how they faired?

Congrats to Tony Skowronek of the Eagles U17's and Drew Basil of Metro Rapids U17's, both play for Chillicothe, for making it to the final State Cup match to be held on Sunday at Clear Creek. I believe Darian Lopez, of Unioto, also plays for the Metro Rapids and will play in the State final tom also. Good Luck to both teams and congrats for making it to the finals. Congrats to Chillicothe for having 2 outstanding players that make a difference beyond the high school teams to the club teams that is playing for #1 in the State.

Congrats To Tony Skowronek.... You are not a State Cup Champion!!!!! Congrats also to Drew Basil and Darian Lopez on a well played game. Eagles up 1 to 0 at half time and then went up 3 to 0. Metro Rapids came back to tie it up 3 to 3 and then Eagles player received a red card making Eagles go into OT with a man down. At the end of OT, game still tied. After PK's, Eagles win. Nice to see local players succeed.
