CONGRATS WHEELERSBURG LADY PIRATES

This years team received an award from the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association having achieved the highest team GPA in the State of Ohio. Their GPA was 3.9277. They will also be receiving an award from the Ohio Army National Guard. Way to go ladies not only on the basketball court but in the class room.

This award is irregardless of division. They have the highest gpa submitted with (I believe) about 800 eligible teams.
It is a smart group of girls who work as hard in the classroom as they do on the court. Unfortunately, this accomplishment is not as public as winning a game and there is not 1000 cheering fans as they ace another test. But in the end, the academic success is far more important and will take them further than any athletic achievement.
Congratulations and keep working hard girls. We are proud of you!

The Army National Guard will be at the school to present the award on Tuesday
4/14/09, not sure what time and don't know if there will be an assembly or not, if anyone finds out please let me know as to I would like to be there.
