That's a really good win for the Spartans! LE returned everyone from a 15-6 team from a year ago.

Logan Elm is a very young basketball team - they have four freshmen and three sophomores on varsity. They'll going to take a few lumps early, but as the young talent gets some experience, they should be a tough team down the stretch.

Logan Elm lost two important players - Nichols and Elliott who was lost after several games last season to an injury.

Congrats to the ladies Spartans on a nice win last night vs Logan Elm. Wondering how the two player that got hurt are doing. One with the knee and the other with an eye injury. Best wishes to both of those young ladies. Noticed that the coach didn't walk thru the line to congratulate the lady spartans last night. Thought that was a little unsportsmanlike on her part. Once again, best wishes to those girls who got hurt and good luck to the rest of the team the rest of the season.

The Spartans looked great! Whitney is very, very good ... Heather McClain will be the 'wild card' for Alexander ... If she stays out of foul trouble, learns to use her height more, the team will be very tough to beat.

Alexander is probably one of the 'deepest' teams I have seen thus far. Whitney Smith is an 'all-district' level type of player, Skidmore can play, Lauren Raines is solid, Julie Els is a scrappy little girl with athletic skills, Guthrie has talent, Whitney Daugherty is under rated and would probably be the best player on a lot of other teams in the area, Kayla Radekin can shoot, Heather McClain could turn out to be a real force for Alexander and Morgan Grinstead is one helluva a basketball player in terms of 'knowledge', passing ability, etc...etc...
