I do give Jackson a ton of credit - they're a darn good basketball team ... size, shoot well, have ball handlers ... the whole nine yards.

Kari Jenkins two straight treys started a 27-10 run that changed a 4-2 deficit to a 29-14 lead. Then a 7-0 run to start the 3rd got the leead up to 20. Eastern never got the lead under 11 points, first with still 6:23 left. Jackson showed some vulnerability to pressure, but their 22/29 FT % kept them in a good lead. They were 21/23 until their whole subs came in with less than a minute left. Ridout was 10/10 and scored 18. By qtr Jenkins scored 11(3 treys), 6, 5, 5 for 27, but I could have credited her with one of her sister's baskets. Burdette had 25 with 3 treys and 7/10 on FT. Parker had 9 and didn't shoot near as well as I saw her do against Waterford. Jackson's shots, except for Poe's, were not nearly under the defensive duress that Eastern's were. Eastern was 15/25 on FT. Many of Burdett's shots just didn't look very good coming out of her hand, while even Jenkins misses were coming out beautifully, even the few misses! She may have been "feeling it" even before her first shot as she was yelling for the ball on the left wing, but didn't get it. The next two times down she did get it and drained both and had 4 treys in the game.

I know of quite a few boys teams that could have learned a lesson by watching Jackson last night ... 21-of-23 from the FT line at one point ... 22-of-29 for the game ... that is how you close out basketball games!
