Pointers will win this one. The question is though will the game get played on Monday or will the snow give them another make up game?

Snow day, for SP and Fairland so I don't see this one getting in. If it does get cancelled this will make SP's third game of the year to be ppd.

Pointers overcome sluggish start

SOUTH POINT, Ohio -- When South Point's girls basketball team is rolling, the Pointers run like a well-oiled machine.
However, it's hard for the machine to run when the tires are flat.
After a sluggish start to Monday's contest against Fairland, South Point erupted for 26 points in the third quarter to cruise to a 73-30 win over the Dragons.
"We didn't play with any intensity in the first half," South Point coach David Adams said. "At halftime, we talked about that we need to play with intensity defensively, especially this time of year no matter what the score."
South Point moved the ball around well and distributed the scoring load evenly. Five players finished with 10 points for the Pointers and every player that went on the court scored.
The victory was enough to keep the Pointers undefeated in Ohio Valley Conference play, but the Dragons played with more intensity than South Point in the first half.
While it wasn't evident on the scoreboard, it was in one particular category that South Point normally excels in -- rebounding.
Fairland (4-9, 1-5 OVC) outrebounded the Pointers, 43-32. Lauren Phillips led the way for the Dragons with 18 rebounds. She also had a team-high seven points.
"We just weren't getting any of the extra things, the loose balls and rebounds," Adams said. "We just didn't give the extra effort that we normally do."
South Point (13-1, 6-0) was coming off a down-to-the-wire victory over Ironton on Saturday and appeared to have an emotional letdown.
Adams said some of the lessons learned Monday night will serve the team well heading into the postseason in two weeks.
Pairings for the Ohio Division III postseason are announced on Sunday and Adams said his team will likely be a high seed, meaning teams will be bringing their best to the court to take on South Point.
"But a game like this, you have to watch out and make sure you don't pick up bad habits," Adams said. "They don't have to be better than you, they just have to be better than you one night. We are only two weeks away from one loss and you're done."
