Amazingly enough this year will once again be the Barnes show.... why on earth is this happening~~~especially when it is well known that others applied for the job that are just as capable of doing a great job..... for the last couple of years that She has had ANYTHING to do with this team many talented girls have sat the bench... but then again isnt that how gahs has been for years?? definately doesnt do the girls justice when they are very athletic and sit the bench so 5 can play!!

Rumor has it the Geiger girl is not playing. Does anyone know if this is true?

No, Geiger isn't playing. Her knee has been bothering her and the ortho Dr said the side to side movement to her knee from b-ball could seriously injure it and recommended her not to play. She will be running some indoor track this winter as the Dr. said that would be OK after she rests it a little. She will be joining Close, Jackson, the Adkins, Logan on the indoor team (unattached because I don't think GA will ever add indoor track) I think this is a wise decision because Alexis is running D1 track.

I don't think you know what your talking about, that she sat better players. I know all her players she played from the past. She had the best on the floor.

So name me some of those players she sat.

I was going to say that Gallipolis fans give noone a chance, but the people on here complaining are not Gallipolis fans. How can we complain before she even has the chance to coach the first game? I realise she has coached before and probably made a lot of people unhappy but I beleive that this is a good staff. Coach Lanham will be a great addition and I am sure that all of the coaches and players will give it there all. It seems like to me that most people who complain have an ax to grind or privatley think because they coached rinky dink or midget league that they also can coach high school. GO ANGELS

Hopefully, this new coaching staff will stay in place for at least the next five years to give the program some much-needed stability. With the overall quality of female athletes in the Gallipolis district, this program should be back on top soon with the proper guidance. I think this new staff can provide that type of guidance.

Geiger should skip indoor, it would be best to have the knee healed before any form of competition.

Did GAHS girls play Thursday night? Nothing on SEOPS or nothing in today's Tribune.

Yes they played. I had to leave early but GAHS won the 1qtr of play. Coal Grove won the 2nd qtr. I left before the 3qtr ended.
