It looked like Valley wanted the win more than Minford. Valley jumped all over them at the beginning, like 12 or 13 before Minford scored. Minford looked very non motivated until the 2nd quarter. It then looked like the switch came on and they made their run @ Valley. They had the lead in the 2nd half and a hungry Valley team took it back. Valley made some free throws down the stretch to win the game.

There won't be many easy SOC II games this year.

Between South Webster, Minford, Oak Hill, Wheelersburg, and of course Valley it's going to be a great season of basketball in the SOC II. Northwest, West, and Waverly are behind the others and will battle it out for 6th place. The top five -- WOW!! That's probably the most competitive this league has been in a long time.

I was young then but back in 94 and 95 it seemed to be more balanced like it is this year. Burg, Oak Hill, Minford, South Webster and Waverly all seemed to be tough.

This year seems to be much like that. I don't know how the others junior high teams are but it seems that Oak Hill, Minford and Burg have some nice young players that could keep things interesting for the upcoming years.

Cleveland Browns#1- hit the nail on the head. I totally agree with everything he said, Minford did battle back and played hard in the 2 half, but some shots weren't falling and valley battled back and wanted it bad, Merritt took control and seemed to make every shot she attempted. She played a tremendous game. The Lady Falcons will/did take the loss hard, (its always hard to lose by a bucket) but hopefully they will learn from it, and come out of the gates with more intensity from here on out. Keep your heads up Lady Falcons, you are a very talented group.

Minford 41
Alexander 35

Minford was up 24-11 at the half, took the pressure off and struggled to score in the third quarter.
Ugly game.

Ugly doesn't describe it well enough..no continuity..no rhythm..and the ball not moving well. This will be a long season if we continue this kind of play ...I think we need a wake up call. This team has too much talent to continue in this manner.

The game was close the whole game but when it came to the end the falcons couldnt pull it off. The lady falcons cant get their heads down because they have a chance for revenge in 10 days! They will practice hard and will want a win! The only problem they have is they cant let 2 girls beat them (cayton & cook)!
GOOD LUCK FALCONS WE WILL GET THEM AT HOME!

Minford looked lifeless and listless. They really need to work on half court offense. I hope they can pull it together Thursday.

You are right. It seemed like everybody looked out of kilter at both ends of the floor. I hear that Harris might be out for an extended period of time due to a knee injury. (My daughter said that she could not walk on it after the game) The girls need to keep their heads up and take one game at a time. Good Luck Ladies!

Sorry to hear about Harris. She is a good player. They do need to shake off a bad game and get ready to play. WB is a good team.

the loss of cayton has hurt this team, but the team has to move on,were expectations to high or is there problems with injuries
back to cayton,I think minford has moved on,it seems that replacing her was easier said than done,if harris is out thursday,it will be tough to get a Win
