Doseck came out at 1.01 left. Game was over when Athens took over the game under the basket. Doseck is super. Smart and strong. Lets the game come to her. Keeps all the other players in the game. She is a "go to player" when needed. Final score was not a good indicater of the game. Warren and Jackson will match up much better size wise. Congrats to Athens.

Oak Hill already beat Warren

Wonder how Oak Hill would do against Africentric?

I left at 1:06 left(55-37) when OH put at least 3 subs in. Biggest lead was 50-29. The story of the game was the Athens defense, especially on the perimeter defensing the good guards, Adkins(23), Haislop(20), Roseberry(10). Other than back to back treys by Haislop and Roseberry to take the score from 8-4 to 10-8, OH wasn't very close to making any other treys. Without those two makes they'd have scored 5,6,5 in the first 3 qtrs. OH used 3 timeouts in the first 1.5 qtrs. OH scored on 4 FG in the first half. I thought the refs bailed out Adkins 2-3 times in the first half by calling a 2 shot foul. Athens made no treys. DeBruin was excellent at making close in bank shots under great distress, but missed hear easiest shot on which there was no resistance on a bust out. Dosek was excellent at making driving layups under great distress.

When I said 1 sub - I wasn't counting the ones Oak Hill put in at the end of the game.

And the story of the game was defense - but that's been the Lady Dogs story all season long.

I think when you have 4 girls who are 5'9, with 2 centers who are 5'10 and 5'11, it gives you some height and length out there on the floor. Athens uses those attributes well, along with very good athleticism, to cause teams problems when they have the ball.

Previous posts give an accurate analysis of the game. Athens was big, strong, and physical as expected. Team speed/ quickness better than I expected. Lady Oaks didn't get it going from the foul line or 3 point line. Missed several opportunities to score a few inside. Got to give credit to the Athens D. It was very aggressive and swarming. Athens scored several transition points that surprised me a little. Didn't think they'd beat the Lady Oaks back up the court so often.

Still think Lady Oaks are a formidable team and will be OK rest of the way. Just need to get up, brush themselves off, and get back on track. Sure they will.

Congrats Athens.

I believe Oak Hill is still No. 1
Athens moved up to No. 5
Eastern No. 2

All 3 divisions well represented by southeastern Ohio.
