Unioto should be very good as well. It will be their 2nd year under Coach Jeff Miller and while they lost a nice senior class, they return some nice athletes and should be exciting to watch.
Agree that Adena will be tough, but that one player that they lost was pretty darn important.

Speakin on behalf of the SHL, there will be plenty of talented teams to contend with. Watching some of the summer league activities and seeing some of the girls seemingly develop overnight, I am pretty sure it will be difficult to pick a clear frontrunner. Fayetteville will be the team to be beat returning their core team for another year. North Adams lost a lot, but I was impressed with some of the girls that stepped up over the summer. They never seem to have a down year. Peebles still seems to be dealing with a jostling of players here and there, but they have some talent coming up from the JH program this year. Lynchburg will still be a competative match for anyone in the league. As with North Adams, I was impressed with Ripley showing some young promise over the summer. Eastern will have (4) returning starters with little depth. Height will still be an issue, but their tough style of play always seems to pull out a couple wins during the season. Freshman, Mollie Prine may see some floor time at the varsity level to help with the guard position. All-in-all, the SHL will be a tough league again this year. When you play any of the top teams, you will earn the win. Good luck to all players, coaches, teams this season!

Oak Hill, Adena, Reedsvillle.

Is Adena a basketball or volleyball school now? Hmm.

How do we count out Waterford? They give Eastern a run for their money every year and we would be crazy to count them out this year.

The Lady Devils had a good summer, with new players learning their roles to make this team better.

North Adams' schedule will provide the needed test. Outside of a league schedule featuring Fayetteville, Peebles, and Eastern Brown, their non-conference schedule will include Adena (at ZT shootout), Western Brown (very good D-II SW school), and a late season matchup with Portsmouth West.
Lewis from Eastern broke her ankle at a scrimmage in Piketon over the weekend. She is a HUGE part of the senior leadershiop on the team. No word on how long she will be out at this point. Wish her a speedy recovery and hopefully no long-term damage.

Marietta doesn't play in a SEO league but come tourney time they will be a force. No one in SEO will want to matchup with them.

Keep an eye on Portsmouth. They scrimmaged Oak Hill last night and won the quarters 3-2 for a total of 77-68 Portsmouth.

What is a top three player? You mean down one of their starters?
I was told Ironton is going to be a top team this year.

One of their best three players did not play in the scrimmage. She will be ready to roll by the time the season comes. Just saying not to look TOO much into those results as they will be skewed.

Peighton Williams is a superb player, but you need coaching to make the talent play and out coach the other coach..they will knish in the middle of the conference..

No doubt about it. With Williams and White, they will cause problems.

we could have some very good tournament games at the end of the year. alot of good teams this year (oak hill, fairland, ironton, west, portsmouth, lynchburg, north adams, peebles, burg) i really think any of these can beat each other on any given day
