Ironton vs Lynchburg-Clay, 3-1-2010

The Lady Tigers will meet Lynchburg-Clay in Waverly on March 1st at 8:00pm. Both teams come into the game with identical 12-5 records and they are no strangers to each other having met before in district play. Sure hope the cheer block that has been present at the boys games this year shows up to support the Lady Tigers as I know LC always has some rowdy fans who get behind their team.

The winner of this game advances to the Convo on March 6th to meet the winner of the Zane Trace - Wheelersburg game

This should be a good game. Both teams are physical and have strong players in the post. This game is a toss up in my opinion. If Lynchburg can consistently get the ball to Hatten in the post and work the ball inside out then I think they have a really good chance to win.

Seeing both teams play and knowing them as I do. This game could be an extremely LOW scoring game. Both teams are physical and like to keep the pace of the game down. I wouldn't be surprised if the winning team's score was in the mid to high 20's. Only way the score might be a little higher scoring is if one of the good shooters on one or both of the teams got hot from the 3 line.

The paint will not be an area for the weak of heart tonight. Fouls and foul shooting will determine who wins this game tonight in my opinion. Both are going to want to get the ball inside and both will play strong defense. Would like to see the game but will have to settle for listening to it on the radio. Best of luck to both teams.
