Like that is going to work with someone on the phone updating. I would think it would be more stressful than seeing it live!

Slamdunk you got any stats? And thanks for updating!

Sorry if I misspell names!

South Point:
Fletcher and Lighty had 13 pts apiece.
Mitchell had 10 pts.

Eastern:

Brown had 9 pts

They didn't give final team stats for some reason or I missed them one of the two.

Hopefully Tinesha can get to feeling 100% - she was ill the past two days. Mitchell is a TOUGH player for a freshmen! - She has come far this season.
Now it's CONVO TIME!!!

Pointers get past Eastern Brown
February 27, 2009 @ 12:00 AM

The Herald-Dispatch

WAVERLY, Ohio -- South Point trailed by five points with three minutes left, but point guard Kayla Fletcher scored eight of her 10 points in the final 2:25 to lift the Pointers to a 50-46 win over Eastern Brown in the Ohio Division III girls district semifinal at Waverly High School on Thursday night.

The game featured a complete contrast of styles -- the Pointers' fast-paced, up-and-down attack against Eastern Brown's half-court, chew-the-clock style.

Down the stretch, South Point coach David Adams used his team's speed advantage to get some easy baskets for Fletcher.

"We went to a flat set with four players on the baseline," Adams said. "We cleared all four to the corner and the (Eastern Brown defenders) all went to the corner and she drove in for several layups."

Fundamentals also helped the Pointers down the stretch. Free throws had been a bugaboo for the team in the early part of the season, but the team came up clutch Thursday night, hitting seven of its final eight to seal the win.

Free throws loomed large against an Eastern Brown team that liked to use its size advantage to punish drivers to the basket.

"The last couple of games, we have shot free throws well," Adams said. "We were 17-of-22 overall and 15-of-18 second half."

South Point (20-2) also took care of the basketball well. The Pointers forced Eastern Brown into 21 turnovers while committing just nine.

Offensive balance was evident with four players in double-figures. Ericka Leighty led the Pointers with 13 points while Jalynn Bradburn added 11. Allison Mitchell joined Fletcher with 10 points.

South Point moves onto the district championship against Federal Hocking at Ohio University's Convocation Center at 5 p.m. on March 7. The Pointers defeated the Lancers, 42-40, in last year's district semifinals.

Adams said tickets for the event will be on sale at South Point High School starting next week.

EASTERN BROWN 10 11 12 13 -- 46: Yockey 7, Cliffton 5, Brown 9, Mullins 8, Prine 9, Rickey 2, Burns 6

SOUTH POINT 8 12 13 17 -- 50: Ericka Leighty 13, Jalynn Bradburn 11, Kayla Fletcher 10, Allison Mitchell 10, Taylor 4, Stewart 2.

I believe SP's record is now 20-2. I assume they lost to Oak Hill but what was the other loss?
