Guess what Floyd? You're going to love this post ...

The Southern Tornadoes have won 5 straight and 7-out-of-8 ... one of those wins was a 62-51 triumph over Waterford.

Southern (9-2 overall), (6-1 in the TVC-Hocking) - sitting atop the standings all by themselves ... they need to at least be above H2o-ford.

lol

FYI ... defending Hocking champs, Federal Hocking, has won 4-in-a-row since adding 6'2 forward Jonathan Snyder to the rotation. He had to sit out until the winter quarter began. He had 12 points, 12 rebounds in his first game and scored 10 last night during the Lancers win over Meigs.

Federal Hocking is (7-6) ... not (6-6)

Piketon is now 10-6. Should be a huge game on Saturday night when the Shermans head down to the Village. Piketon will be playing to get into a tie with Unioto at top of the SVC.

LOL ... good deal ... didn't want my Tornadoes getting shafted.

Now how about fixing Howie Caldwell's Lancers ... they are (7-6) ... you don't want Howie on your bad side, Floyd ... I'm just tryin to help you out here.

... 93dog you failed to mention in your Southern rant that the Tornadoes have beat only 1 team with a winning record (Waterford)... losing to Federal Hocking as well ... I'm watching the Southern boys ... I'll have to fix Fed Hockings record though - NO I don't want Coach Caldwell sending his minions out looking for me - with the "stomp" as a weapon of choice ... the record is being corrected as I type LOL ...

LOL ... that's why I said they need to at least be above Waterford. I'll hold on a little while until I start pushing for them to move up the rankings.

But hey ... at 9-2 ... even a "paper tiger" is still a "tiger" in my book.

While we're at it I'd move Chillicothe up to the next group of teams. They've been playing well lately...beat MT by 10 and lost to WCH by only two.

It will be real interesting to see how the SVC coaches go at the vote in the Waverly sectional. Valley is 4-0 against the SVC (UHS, HR, PHS, Adena) with 20+ point wins in all of them, and everyone could have been much worse. After watching both leagues, there is no doubt that the top half of the SOC is much stronger than the SVC. Will the SVC side with each other to put a 2 loss ZT over a 2 loss Valley? Or a 2 loss Portsmouth? The political part of sectional seedlings can be ugly.

Obviously splitting hairs, but a 19 point game after 3 and ending at 29 points probably couldn't have gotten much worse. It was awful though, lol. Unioto has bounced back well after the 7 new varsity players became acclimated to the pace of the game (winning 11 of 12)

Valley is the best team in that sectional and will be voted that way, only if Portsmouth doesn't jump them.

But, how crazy is it that a #3 at #5 game isn't the Game of the Week in the SE district?

I'm with ya! The next few weeks will be fun. I knew Unioto would be ok, but Piketon's turn around has been shocking. The SVC should be wild the next few weeks.
