But you have to understand where i'm coming from in trying to pick between vc & the Dragons, which is really just splitting hairs. Athens & Fairland played neck & neck the entire game & Athens even led after each of the first three quarters. Vinton on the other hand blew the doors off Athens beating them by almost 30 both times. Now, I may not be a basketball genius, but its not rocket science to see the difference in those outcomes.
I will concede your point about the difference without Van Horn. If he plays against Athens then Lutz doesn't get half of the lay ups he got, especially off of our press. Van Horn changes the way Fairland can play defense because he either contests or alters everything in the paint. He lets us beat Athens by 20. But again VC lost at full strength against a team they had no business losing too and Fairland has held it together while down their big man. To me that constitutes the 1 ranking.

I'm going to make the hour & half trek to Miami Trace Friday to see the rematch of Chillicothe vs Miami Trace (a MT 62-59 overtime "W" at the Hatton Gym in Chillicothe) ...

I get that Logan plays a tough schedule but they are 6-10......
At some point you gotta take the losses into account.

Another solid list pfloyd!

Chillicothe has another interesting week @Upper Arlington on Tuesday and @ Miami Trace on Friday

No truth to the rumor they tried to get Newark or Moeller for Saturday....

I hope to see PFloyd between games on Friday!

If Fairfield Union and Vinton County both only have 1 loss at the time of the draw FU should get the 1 seed. I think VC is very good, but FU plays a much better schedule. I don't think either team would be hurt by the 1 or 2, both are very good just my opinion.

The difference will likely be VC smoked Logan while FU lost to Logan.

Fairfield Union can add to its resume if it can defeat D1 two-loss St. Charles on Tuesday. If VC trips up between here and the draw, FU should get the top seed if it can go unbeaten to the draw.

Not sure when VC goes to Logan, but I expect the rematch to be closer.

... Logan is 4-2 vs teams in the SE District ... beating Fairfield Union & Unioto (2 teams currently in the Elite 8) ... the only other team Unioto has lost in the SE district is FU ... FU has ONLY lost Logan ... Logan losses in the SE District - #2 Vinton County ( with a rematch to come in a week) & #4 Warren at the Warrior Dome this past weekend ( again with a rematch in February in Logan) ... the Marietta game as I responded to your earlier post is a telling game on Tuesday Marietta out of the ECOL ... at #20 in the SE District ... is a must win game for Logan to continue to use the "quality of opponent" to "not slide in the rankings" ... I heard at Warren Saturday night that Logan will not be scheduling Warren on their play list for next season ??? Logan apparently is going ALL Central District opponents ... with that - Logan will no longer be ranked as a SE Ohio/SE District team ... saddens pfloyd - I will be on the road ALL of next season & beyond it would appear ...

If FU beats St. Charles, they should be the 1. Just from watching our guys play both, VC is the slightly better team...but both are very, very good. 1 or 2 won't matter to either of them though, but the 1 is more enticing for the first round of Districts.

bman ... Vinton County comes to Logan on 2/11 (the eve of Sectional seeding) ... it could play into the #1 seed selection - as VC will be playing AT Logan where FU lost early in the season ...

I hope they let our AD know that soon! Lol we just lost Wilmington due to a home/road imbalance for them next season and I'm not sure how well we're going to be able to fill that considering it just happened this week.

Circleville is 6-10.
I'd flip Chillicothe and Unioto in the Elite Eight, but it's a good list.

Logan should at least schedule one game with Warren.

Pfloyd, that game on the 11th wont matter. Voting closes after the friday night games on the 10th.

Gotta love the 'online' voting they do now.

I'll never be able to be convinced that Coaches just couldn't vote online starting at Midnight on Sunday to 3pm on Sunday to make sure that all of the games count.

Seriously, all the district people have to do is count after they get inputted by the coaches.

There is a little more to it than counting. Brackets have to be filled out, ties broken, invalid entries discarded & the board cant do anything until the person running the online voting sends them the info. Could it be open until saturday at midnight? Probably. But if you wanted to wait until sunday so coaches could digest all the weekend action - then the old setup was best. Head to jackson & iron it out.

Thank goodness they release what coaches vote and where....at least the coaches can view it
