I don't agree, not saying Southern would win but I don't see many teams beating them "Badly" Southerns defense is pretty legit.

i understands this is your list but if it was mine chillicothe would be in the top 5. look at schedules and ask yourself what would there record be playing those other teams schedule or vise versa. or call those schools and see if they would put chillicothe on there schedule and see what they say NO

... ohiostbucks99 ... I understand "strength of schedule" BUT even with "a schedule" you have to get "W's" ... Chillicothe stands at 13-7 ... ranking the Cavs at the #9 spot is a fair positioning for a 7 loss team even taking into account - strength of schedule ... IF strength of schedule was the dominating factor in ranking the teams Ironton would be sitting atop the heap even if they lost half of their games ... "W's" still matter in my little world LOL ... maybe I should rank teams based on "how good of a game a team gives another team" or better yet maybe I could use the " gave them a run for their money for 3 quarters of the game" ranking system ... you still need to get the "W's" ... with that said "if you are going to bet on a team in a one on one matchup - you better pay attention to their strength of schedule AND how they played in their losses" ...

Floyd ... How long do you keep doing the Elite 8? I'm having a hard time remembering when you put out a final list?

I've always looked at the Elite 8 like the Top 25 polls in college sports. You win, you move up, you lose you drop. If you lose to a higher ranked, it doesn't hurt you as bad as losing to an unranked team.

... 93dog ... I will put out a "Final" Elite 8 Wednesday night after the regular season is in the books ... I don't do a post season ranking but I will do napkin stat/re-caps of the Post Season games I go see (Logan Sectional games Friday and Saturday along with the Convo games) ...

I have always stood by my claim that SEOPreps is the best high school boyz basketball forum anywhere - a forum which truly covers 1/4 of the state of Ohio?!! - seriously????!!!!!! - I think it is amazing and awesome ... giving out great information, providing a vehicle for "good"/knowledgeable debate ... Paint Valley leads Northwest 19-14 after the 1st quarter at Waverly

Paint Valley now leads 34-33 at the half. Very back and forth game with many lead changes and ties. Sounds like every time PV seems like they are going to pull away, NW knocks down a big shot and goes on a run. Should be a great 2nd half.

Eli Barker with 14 pts and 8 boards at the half for PV, Harrison Hermann(15 ppg) had 7 pts, BUT 3 fouls, including one with 0.1 left in the half! Could loom big in the 2nd half

NW is 6-11 from the line, PV is 3-5

Northwest now leads 43-41 after 3. Barker hits a buzzer beater for his 1st pts of the 2nd half. PV was 3-10 at the line in the quarter

3:42 left, NW up 52-47. Luke Brown(16 pts, 12 rebs so far) just went on a 5-0 run himself. TO PV.

Sounds like Northwest is going to get the duke, up 62-54 with 1:06 left.

:58 left, 62-56 after a steal and layup for Hermann, who now has 18. Barker still at 16, Clay Stratton with 11(all in the 1st half)

:33 left, 63-57 now. Hermann fouls out for the Bearcats with 18 pts, likely his last game. Heck of a year for him.
