Way to go Alexander. Thanks Pfloyd for recognizing the boys for Albany. We have a tough week with Athens and Chesapeake. Season is only half way done.

... Alexander is an excellent TEAM ... they play a very solid defensive game ... play a physical game of ball - not to be interpreted as "dirty" at all - they put their bodies on you at both ends of the floor - they don't let you cross in front of them without bumping you in the paint, they disrupt offensive rhythm of their opponent ... offensively actually setting "picks" waiting to get a body on the defensive player ... and they are physically strong ... ALL good in my book ... Mason Chapman is outstanding ! he reminds me of Bryant "Pete" Blake at Logan Elm from a few years ago - built the same way, strong football players, that will control you defensively ... throw in Seth Richards, Cory Chapman and I really like the Spartans first off the bench Jake Weaver who when I saw them vs Minford I thought would work his way into the starting lineup and be a 3rd solid scorer for Alexander ...

the Trojans will find out how far along they are after this week , coming off a loss in a very good game against Valley they will face Chesapeake Tuesday then Fairland and eastern brown in the next 3 games. Trojans are 3 and 4 but have been in each game they have lost including Huntington St Joe and Afrocentric.

Im a long ways from counting the Trojans out of putting a good season together ,Ive been watching these kids from freshman the talent is there.

Love how Floyd 'sneaked' the dreaded 'tie' in there at No. 8.

Come on Floyd! Quit straddling the fence.

Not Bad, Meigs at #10 and the only team undefeated in the TREEHUGGERS WANNABEES....I think if pfloyd actually watched Meigs play a game he would be just as high on them as Alexander...I like Meigs flying under the radar...Please people keep thinking VC and Alex is superior to Meigs :)

Being ranked #10 isn't flying under the radar in my book ... and from the other thread one of the posters - FannyPack - was kind enough to take the time to come up with the record total for Meigs' opponents 29-60 - THAT DOES MATTER - that IS why Meigs isn't in the Elite 8 - yet ...(I posted this on the Week #4 thread) no question Meigs is a good team ... (10-0) I get that ... beating Warren @ Warren I get that too ( this week Meigs is ranked ahead of that very same Warren ball club ) ... I also get that a team plays the hand/games on their schedule BUT I need to see what the Marauders do vs a steady diet of "good" games vs "good" teams ... here's the stretch of the Meigs schedule I'm looking at - on 1/12 Meigs vs Vinton County ... 1/15 Meigs @ Alexander ... if that doesn't tell me enough Meigs will travel to Athens on 1/22 ...

Meigs

W 64-57 Belpre
W 74-72 Warren ... the ONE of TWO teams on Meigs' schedule thus far with a winning record ... Wellston (5-3)
W 76-39 Wellston
W 72-64 Athens
W 71-39 Rock Hill
W 47-44 Jackson
W 61-39 River Valley
W 88-67 Point Pleasant
W 68-39 Federal Hocking
W 64-38 Eastern Rdsville

... I WILL be in the Cheap Seats for (at least) one of the 3 games mentioned - vs VC, @ Alexander and/or @ Athens ...

I'm okay with where we are, Always like the underdog role.

One good thing about playing that schedule, our average win margin is 19 points per game, and like you said we did beat Warren AT Warren and with them having Seth Hall :)

Logan entertains Bloom Carroll from the MSL Monday evening at Jim's Gym ... Logan will be the underdogs vs the perennial Mid-State League power ... BC can be counted on to bring a big or 2 in the paint and an army of 3 point shooters ... yet another good test for the Purple & White from a team from Above the Lancaster-Dixon Line ...

Monday 1/4

Bloom Carroll
@ Logan

...any other games Monday night ?

Southeastern @ Circleville
New Hope Christian @ Westfall

Not sure if New Hope is competing in the OHSAA tournament yet, but they are out of Circleville, so that might be a new team for you in a year or two! They defeated Huntington in overtime earlier this year.

Waterford is also undefeated in the Treehuggers list.

Adena seems to be finding its new personality pretty well with their current roster. Jonathon Thomas averaged 31.5 PPG over the break in their 2 wins. I feel like he's the type of player that could get hot and carry his team to the Convo.

On Tuesday, Zane Trace travels to Logan Elm. ZT is 6-4, but haven't lost a game when Pierce Mowery has been in the lineup. That will be their toughest test with him in on the season so far.
