This Elite 8 was released on Sunday. Waverly went 2-0 since then, thus were 2-4 at the time that this was released.

Ahh...I saw that it was somewhat updated with recent scores and did not realize it was not the current results. Carry on.

Vikings didn't struggle with Piketon. Game was never in doubt. Tristen Bartoe went 20/22 from the stripe and finished somewhere around 30. Piketon was down 18 in the 4th when they hit 2 3's and a lay up. Vikings won by 13

I thought piketon was in this game late they acualy cut the lead to 7 in the 4th qtr.....my opinion is free throws was then difference Piketon was terrible as Vinton county was the best free throw shooting team I have seen this year

Logan 43
Watkins Memorial 41 final

... Logan took on yet another D1 opponent from Above the Lancaster-Dixon Line - Watkins Memorial out of Licking County ... the Warriors left Jim's Gym with an "L" on their handy dandy pocket schedule ... Logan 43 Watkins Memorial 41 final ... win #2 in a row for the Chiefs ... win #4 on the season ... the Purple go to 1-0 in 2016 ... Coach Kellough has stated & restated that WE (the Logan fans) would see a different team once the Purple got into the New Year ... he was right ! many many of the inconsistencies were not there tonight - what showed on the court was not perfect BUT what we did see was a team on both ends of the floor that was coming together - "getting it" ... getting what needs to be done on defense ... getting /doing what needs to be done offensively : patience arrived tonight on offense - the offense was run looking to get the best shot by the right players in the right spots on the court ... the kids are doing what needs to be done to get "W's" ... doing what Coach Kellough wants, when he wants it done - the kids are now buying into the system ... Is it perfect? No! 43 points "ain't" going to put up lots of W's BUT it WILL if you play solid D and hold your opponents to under 43 ...

... the Chiefs played their best first "2 quarters of a game" this season at both ends of the floor imo ... I jotted down "Patience has arrived" on my napkin stats ... in the first quarter Logan had 6 players contribute offensively ... the offensive motion was there ... looks inside were there ... all 6 fgs in the first quarter by the Chiefs were in the paint off the glass ... Logan 15 WM 10 end of 1 ... Quarter #2 saw Bo Myers come in off the bench to drain back to back three's ... interestingly enough those were the only 2 fgs made by Logan that weren't in the paint/off the glass on the night ... Watkins offensive weapons - Alex Miles & Tyler Ruff - the duo accounted for 2 three's in the period, 12 pts. total in the period ... Logan 30 WM 26 at intermission ... Period number 3 it looked like Logan was still on holiday break - no energy, a very lackluster quarter for the Purple only 5 points offensively while giving up not only 11 points but also the lead ... first losing the lead at the 4:48 mark in the quarter 32-31 Warriors ... no one gained more than a 2 point lead the rest of the way ... Logan 35 Watkins Memorial 37 end of 3 ... Patience was the name of the game in the 4th as both teams had their worst quarters turnover wise - WM with 5 and Logan 4 in the quarter ... THE turning point came with Watkins leading by 2 with a chance to get separation with a bucket - BUT the speed of Lane Little tipped the ball away from a WM guard, LL took it the length of the half court for a transition 2 to tie it at 41-41 ... BIG PLAY made by the senior Lane Little ... no one dented the scoreboard for almost 3 minutes of game clock as it was knotted at 41-41 ... WM missed multiple shots to take the lead before Logan grabbed a board and called a TO with :14 left on the clock ... WM tried to double team the inbounded ball - (PATIENCE found it's way into the game again for the Chiefs - I posted the offense was coming - players have bought into the Coach Kellough system - players are now where they are supposed to be on the floor) - 3 passes ... a cutting Isaiah Smith off the glass for 2 and the lead ... :05 Logan up 43-41 ... TO Watkins Memorial ... WM needed to go the length of the court ... ball went to Mr. Everything for WM - Alex Miles ... Miles went 2/3 court before throwing an off balance pass that went out of bounds ... Chiefs get the W ... Logan 43 Watkins Memorial 41 a final ...

... Pfloyd's Official "unofficial" Napkin Stats - Watkins Memorial

Scoring ... Alex Miles 20, Tyler Ruff 10, Cameron Johnson 5, Westley Brandon 2, Joey Looney 2, Rex Miles 1, Cole Nixon 1

3 Pointers ... 4/12 ... Tyler Ruff 2, Alex Miles 1, Cameron Johnson 1

FT's ... 5/12

TOs ... 10 ... 5 BIG turnovers in the 4th

... Pfloyd's Official "unofficial" Napkin Stats - Logan

Scoring ... Isaiah Smith 17, Bo Myers 10, Caiden Landis 7, Lane Little 6, Cole Baron 2, Kory Henthorne 1

3 Pointers ... 2/7 ... Bo Myers 2

FT's ... 7/12

TO's ... 12

... the Chiefs have improved in every game ... as Coach Kellough was teaching players & coaches ... trying to get buy in to his system ... the defense was emphasized and arrived first while the offense was noticeably not to be found - no flow, kids thinking about what was being taught, shots weren't falling as everyone was thinking about where to be, when to be there, who should shoot , who shouldn't shoot - everyone was trying to walk and chew gum at the same time ... tonight although not perfect it was noticeable from the cheap seats that everyone was on the same page offensively, PATIENCE was now a part of TEAM ... only a handful of possessions were rushed possession - ill advised shots ... Chiefs have gotten over the hump ! - now it will be working to improve shooting, making better post entry passes, the bigs inside will work on less thinking and more reacting to the defense ... looking forward to seeing how the Purple & White play vs Bloom Carroll Monday night ! ...

tend to agree with with the bulldog........29-60 is what it is, but so is 10-0 . You play the team on the court with you,and you take care of your own business

Think the Marauders deserve to break into the eight as well. Was a little skeptical ten or so days ago after their first seven games but they really are going to be hard to handle.

Match-up against VC will say a lot obviously but they are going to make some good teams nervous with their style of play.

Pfloyd my eastern pike eagles are still a top 20 team IMO. they have played a tough schedule for a d4 team and have 3 nice road wins over pretty good teams I believe this new year will bring good things for the eagles.

Eastern Pike was blown out by Sciotoville East, sorry but they do not deserve to jump them. If Sciotoville East moves up, so will they.

I think east is deserving of being ranked between #15-#20 for the way they have played thus far this season the have some good home wins.

A couple things ...

All 22 games in the schedule matter and the more games that get played, especially against tough opponents, the less the head to head should matter.

Meigs has played a weak-ish schedule BUT also they are undefeated and quite good. If they win a big matchup Pfloyd will bump the way up....but I bet he's waiting on the big matchup

I92 reads me pretty good ... no question Meigs is good team ... (10-0) I got that ... beating Warren @ Warren I get that too ( this week Meigs is ranked ahead of that very same Warren ball club ) ... I also get that a team plays the hand/games on the schedule BUT I need to see what the Marauders do vs a steady diet of "good" games vs "good" teams ... here's the stretch of the Meigs schedule I'm looking at - on 1/12 Meigs vs Vinton County ... 1/15 Meigs @ Alexander ... if that doesn't tell me enough Meigs will travel to Athens on 1/22 ...
