Piketon, Waverly, and Valley could potentially be flirting with a spot fairly soon as well.

I can pretty much agree with the top 2, I don't have a good feel for exactly how good Chesapeake is so I can't definitively say Warren is better than Chesapeake(as u have it) I can)'t even definitively say that Logan Elm is better than the peake, being that they played em without Mcmasters, but your list is undertstandable.

Waverly is a nice team that could win a lot of games. They could easily be 5-0 but until they start making free throws they are not an elite 8 team in my eyes

Yeah, there just isn't a tremendous amount to go on even still.

I certainly don't know how good each of those teams are either. Portsmouth might travel to Chilly in a few days and move up 3 or 4 spots to where most people figure they'll be come tourney time.

Couldn't make it down to the Convo today because of questionable wheels, but sounds like a nice day of basketball.

Piketon @ Waverly for the Pike County Championship(they both have to win 1st though) and Unioto @ Huntington on Tuesday will both be huge game for the back end of the Elite 8 over the next 10 days.

Of course, Portsmouth @ Chillicothe is THE big game of this coming week though.

I also added some stats for the SVC games I covered last night as well.

Nice to see Fairfield Union bounce back with a win last night against Logan after a horrible performance against a great Bloom Carroll team. That shows me that Brusco is getting through and is establishing something with this program and kids that will hopefully continue to grow.

Dont think you could go wrong with either Ironton or Chilli at number one. If Chilli beats Portsmouth the pre-season number one would fall to 3-3

Its nice to either have good friends or solid acquaintances on 7 of the 8 coaching staffs in the SVC, makes getting scores, updates, and stats a whole lot easier, lol.

Btw, ZT's Wes Beam put up a 30/14 night Saturday against Westfall. He had 24 in the 1st half. Friday, him vs Detillion was a very good big man matchup.

I would like to see the Southern Tornadoes move up Floyd ... 20 point wins over Wahama and Waterford plus a huge 66-58 win at South Gallia ... You gotta love the double didget scoring from Roseberry, Taylor, Roberts & Martin ... You can almost book it everytime that the Tornadoes get at least three players with 10+ points.

VC continues to prove their the class of the TVC-Ohio ... Minus the season opener (a loss to Huntington) the Vikings have been stellar ... They need to be at least 'sniffing' the top 8 - but still have a lonog way to go ... The stretch around X-mas will give us a better look at the Vikings as they travel outside the TVC ... (River Valley on the 20th, at Paint Valley on the 23rd, at Southeastern on the 27th and at Logan on the 30th) ... Four games before New Years and Vinton County could possibly be 7-1 when 2012 hits - which is almost top 8 material depending on what the other teams do.
