Peebles gets upset by Eastern Brown 59-57. Peebles led most of the game and was up by 6 with 2mins left but Eastern closed it out. Chase Lawson(had 15pts in the fourth) and Jordan Payne led all scorers with 20pts a piece. Peebles was led by Beau Justice with 15 and Jacob Daniels with a 14pt double double.

Seriously, how many times does Coal Grove play Rose Hill Christian? That's 3 by my count and Rose Hill is a solid 0-12, hard to give the Hornets credit when they beat teams like that.

Totally agree with you but there is nothing the kids nor the coaches can do about a scheldule the previous coach set up. Its rediculous because they play lawrence county ky 3 times also. This is a much improved CG team from the past nobodys is trying to get them in the top 8 and nothing is wrong with posting there scores. Just to maybe give these kids who havnt played due to previous coaching a little more credit then they have gotten in the past.

I see nothing wrong with posting scores or being excited about the obvious improvment of the team/programs. I've been apart of some bad seasons and know how nice it is to get back into winning. Hopefully they will challenge themselves a bit more in the coming years, but it really is nice to see a program turn it around, albeit against bad teams. Better than losing to them!

My appologies if i interpreted your post the wrong way. Its been tough at the Grove lately with some 2 and 0 win seasons. Everybody up here in CG wishes our schedule was a little tougher because this is not a bad team at all and are also fairly young. CG has some tougher opponents coming up and i think they will surprise a few teams.

Very tough 5 game stretches coming up for 2 top SVC teams

Huntington
1/6- Zane Trace(3-4)
1/7- @Lucasville Valley(4-2)
1/13- @Southeastern(4-3)
1/14- Lynchburg Clay(5-3)
1/20- @Piketon(5-2)
ZT is dangerous, while LC is red-hot. We should see how strong they are after this stretch.

Piketon
1/6- @Unioto(6-2)
1/7- Vinton County(5-3) @OU-Chillicothe
1/13- Zane Trace(3-4)
1/14- @Portsmouth(6-2)
1/20- Huntington(7-1)
If Piketon can get through the SVC games unbeaten, they have to be the favorite to win the league. VC is struggling, but is always tough to beat and Coach Lisath goes home next Saturday in a big game.

PFloyd, you have 71 teams ranked when you count your tie for second. There are 72 teams in the southeast district this year according to the district tournament website. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out who is missing from the rankings. I know you count Wahama which would make 73 teams if everyone was accounted for. Crooksville is D3 and in the SE district but who is the other team missing? If anybody figures this out please post who it is.

I stand corrected there are only 71 teams in southeast district. I had counted South Gallia twice - forgot to take them off of my independents list! So Crooksville is the only team not in the rankings.

Unioto is hosting Piketon without Sr PG Cole Murray. We'll see how the Shermans fare without their floor leader.

Unioto 11-8 after 1 quarter

Thoughts go out to Piketon's Caleb Watkins who was carted out after an ankle injury.

Piketon 23-19 at the half. Big difference is Piketon's willingness to take the charge.

River Valley came in at 1-6 (now 1-7). Are they that much better than their record would indicate? I would have thought that a 1-point win by the Hornets would have been due to them having an off night. Either way, a league win is a league win and it doesn't matter if it's by 1 or 20. Congrats to the Hornets.
