... good "W" for Coach Skinner & Co. going into Saturday nights rivalry game vs Nelsonville York ... defense was the key for the Bulldogs tonight on Senior Night ... Josh Maxson appears to be "back" for AHS ... Athens with a "shot" at a share of the TVC Ohio ... AHS will be rooting for Wellston to knock off Vinton Co. to go with having to win on Senior Night AT Nelsonville York ...

Floyd ... I'm in 'warm-up' mode already man ... Took a trip down to Wellston Tuesday to see my 'Dogs win ... Got my first taste of tourney action last night in Albany when my (15-5) Lady 'Dogs took one on the chin in a loss to Fairfield Union for the sectional title ... I then Raced over the hill to The Plains and caught the Athens/Meigs game ... Tonight the I'm heading back down to Wellston to cheer on the Golden Rockets vs Vinton County (need those Vikes to lose darn it! lol) ... Gonna get some rest tonight before I head down to Pomeroy tomorrow afternoon for a Division IV girls double-header (Waterford vs Belpre; Eastern vs South Webster - for sectional titles) ... And then, cruise back to Buchtel to watch my Bulldogs hopefully play for a share of the league title as they take on NY on senior night ... Whew ... What a way to kick off the stretch run!!!

5 days ... 3 sectional title games ... 4 regular season games with league title implications ... and 4 counties traveled acrossed!

(I thought I wouldn't have enough energy ... But I got a big boost out at Alex last night ... Heard for the first time this year "YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOOK AT YOUR WATCH - WE'LL TELL YOU WHAT TIME IT IS - ITS BASKTEBALL THIRTY HERE IN THE ALLEY!!!)

That's all I needed to hear - I'm pumped up enough to get me through this hectic weekend now!!! lol

... gotcha covered on the stats I92 ...

...Pfloyd Official/UNofficial Napkin Stats - Jackson ...

Scoring : Colt Chapman 21, Ray 8, Quinn 8, Eisnagle 6, Neal 6, Staker 3, Gross 2

3-Pointers : 6/25 ... Neal 2, Ray 2, Chapman 1, Staker 1

FT's : 4/6

TO's : 13

ATR : 15 buckets finished at the rim inside the block

Transition (T) : 2

... Pfloyd Official/UNofficial Napkin Stats - Logan ...

Scoring : Gavin Jourdan 16, Luke Miller 16, Tristan Myers 12, Vermillion 9, McNeal 5, Mutzner 3, Webb 2

3-Pointers: 3/13 ... Jourdan 3

FT's : 20/25

TO's : 9

ATR : 15

T: 2

... Logan played their best "complete" game of the season at both ends of the floor ... holding Jackson's number one option Colt Chapman to 4 points in the first half ... offensively - the Purple "ran the offense" for 4 quarters getting 15 shots inside the blocks to fall ... each time Jackson made a run with a couple of buckets, Logan stayed patient - got good shots ... Coach Helber had to be happy with the all around play of his troops tonight - a solid 4 quarter effort for the Purple ...

Don't sit behind the rail you goof ... lol ... there are plenty of other seats ... Personally, I love standing above the hoop around the railing ... Makes me feel like I'm right in the middle of the action ... I thought about jumping over it tonight to call a timeout for the Wellston coach since he wasn't gonna do it!!! They were down three with the ball (and only 30 seconds left) - he had three timeouts - but doesn't call one ... They come down the floor in chaos, jack up a wild shot ... VC gets the rebound & the game is basically over (after some fouls/foul shots.)

Arrrrghhhhhhh ... I should have jumped ... lol ... at least the game would have been stopped as they carried me off and he could have set up a play.

... ahhhhhh yes 93dog sacrificing it all for the Bulldog Nation  ... how will the outcome of VC beating Wellston tonight effect the Bulldog's play tomorrow night at Nelsonville ? going to be a big let down for AHS ? ... although getting that Athens "defense" ready to try to put the clamps on a solid Logan Elm squad might be some BIG TIME motivation for Coach Skinners TEAM ...

Unioto's 1st SVC Championship of any kind since 1994-1995! Congrats to Coach Hoops and the Shermans and also to Coach Lisath and the Redstreaks on the shared SVC crown. The seniors were freshmen when Unioto went 1-20, quite a turnaround.

Piketon with their 2nd straight SVC title and 3rd in 4 years for Coach Lisath's boys.

... Congratulations to BOTH the Unioto Shermans and the Piketon "youngsters" of Coach Lisath - SVC Co-Champions ... pretty sure that Piketon was NOT expected to be in the running this season with all of the youth needing to gain experience - I will be honest daniC when I saw Piketon at Waverly during the Pike County Holiday get together - I saw "areas" that needed improvement for the Streaks to become a "good" team <= goes to show that good coaches (and Coach Lisath fits in that category LOL) build on the strengths, instruct/improve on the weaknesses THROUGHOUT the season ... I'm looking forward to seeing Piketon AGAIN so I can see the improvement in those PHS boyz ...

They made HUGE jumps from the opener at Huntington to when I last saw them last week at home against Unioto. Big time steps through the 5-6 times I saw Coach Lisath's team this season, very impressive for that young team. I think I had them 4th in the preview I sent you pfloyd, but I'll give myself credit when I mentioned how much they would improve throughout the season! I just didn't expect them to start as strong as they did in league play.
