Portsmouth plays at 4:45 today vs. Owen County, KY, which is 7-1 coming into the game. The Trojans are 4-2 and are looking to clinch a winning record at the KSA for the second consecutive time. Against Cinnaminson, NJ, sophomore Kyre Allison led the Trojans with 18 points, followed by freshman Kendall Reynolds with 12 in a 55-34 win.

Went to the Chillicothe Holiday Tournament last night.........saw Chesapeake squeak by Lancaster, almost giving away a 13 point lead in the 4th quarter. The Panthers hit their free throws down the stretch, and got a huge stop at the end to seal the win. It was my first time seeing Chillicothe..........the Cavaliers are as quick as any team in the SE district, and that includes my Trojans. They lack size, like the Trojans, but Tommy Bolte is averaging around 25 PPG, and had about 20 when I left. CHS pushes the ball up the court, and overall are fun to watch. Should be an entertaining game when Portsmouth visits Chillicothe in February.

... any word on the results of the 4:45 games in FL with both Logan Elm and Portsmouth playing ??? IF both won - the 2 SEO teams would play each other Monday OR if both lost they would meet in game #3 on Monday in the losers bracket ...

... great trip South for the Trojans ... good to hear, a win on Monday in the Championship game would give Coach Collins' boyz tons of confidence coming back to SEOAL play as they ALREADY have a leg up in league play with their road win AT the WarriorDome in their pocket ...

Liberty Christian features a 7'4 and 3 others over 6'6 on their 9 man roster. That's a tall task for the Trojans, but it's doable. Hopefully LE can come home with a 2-1 record.

FLOYD ... I'm kind of upset we are being shortened on games at the Convo ... BUT ... I think we will go back to the old format for CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY!!!

DII - championship
DIV - championship
DIV - championship
DIII - championship
DIII - championship

Instead of a Vinton County vs Greenfield McClain clash to start the day, like we had back in 2003 ... maybe an Athens/Warren match-up (or Logan Elm/Athens/Warren) will kick off another epic afternoon at the Convo is 2013!

:)

Awesome! I fully believe that they have what it takes to make another very deep tournament run. Congrats on the great trip to Florida!

Logan Elm finishes 2-1 after a 51-34 win today to finish in 3rd in the same bracket as Portsmouth.
