I thought wch was suppose to be good. Cavs would have won by over 30 if they hadn't emptied their bench. And the cavs aren't a good team. Maybe the cavs can win this sectional

WCH usually is a terrible matchup because of their 5 guard lineup, but Chillicothe's quickness completely wiped out what they were trying to do. Chillicothe matches up well with most of the sectional, as there are really no dominant bigs.

Logan 39 Athens 43 after three ... going into the 4th the closest Logan could get was when the game was tied 0-0 to tip it off, foul trouble hurt Athens as star freshman Ibi Watson sat out part of 3rd,was on the bench to begin the 4th ... a combination of Logan's defense, Athens playing shorthanded on the perimeter (Zacchia Saltzman DNP due to a back injury) had the Bulldogs unable to get their offense started- unable to get the ball below the foul line from 6:26 to 2:44 in the 4th - in that time Logan sophomore guard Chance Cox hit a big time 3-pointer to tie the game at 43-43 (6:26 left in the game, Logan's 1st tie since 0-0) the Chiefs took a 51-46 lead with 2:44 left ... LHS led 52 - 48 at :47 , Athens with the tie 52-52 :28 remaining, Joey Cottrill sank 2 FTs :27 to give Logan 54-52 lead ... Joey Burrow hit a jumper inside the arc on the right wing to send the game into OT 54-54 ... Logan was led by senior Tristan Myers in th 4th (7 pts) , Athens spread the ball around as Watson returned to the game to hit a big trey in the final quarter of regulation ... Logan 54 Athens 54 after four ... Athens went to their big man in the middle Jared Elmore/ the senior post man for AHS saw the ball inside on 3 straight possessions scoring 8 points, Logan answered with the scoring of McNeal who hit 2 big threes and a running hook in the paint (8 points in OT) ... the rest of the Athens scoring came from Ryan Leuhrman FT's 5/7 as the lead went back and forth Logan's Myers (5 pts) countering the AHS FT's ... :30 in OT Athens 67 Logan 65 ... :11 in OT Logan 67 Athens 68 ... Joey Burrow made 1/2 FT's to make the score Logan 67 Athens 69 ... with McNeal having hit 6 threes on the night all eyes were on the Logan senior ... McNeal was unable to get open, the ball swung around to the young sophomore Chance Cox - after tying the game for the first time in the 4th with a 3 ball ... Cox drained a three pointer from the right wing Logan 70 Athens 69 final in OT ...

Talk about a 'gathering' at the Palace tonight ... Pfloyd (Logan), Dundas (VC), Coach Kline (NY), Coach Gabriel (Alexander), 93Dog (Athens), Mrs. Floyd (wearing purple - but secretly an Athens fan) ... I'm surprised we even got to watch the action unfold with all those 'loud-mouths' up in the stands! .... lol

As Floyd ALWAYS likes to point out, it came down to 'FREE-THROWS' once again, IMO ... Watson missed one late, Burrow missed one down the stretch and Elmore missed one ... (15-of-22) doesn't sound all that bad, but the misses came at a crucial time ... and playing without Saltzmen hurts, the trio of Burrow, Watson, Saltzmen all three average over 12 points per game ... the Bulldogs can't sit around and lick their wounds (like I am right now ... lol) ... they have 4-games-in-5 days and they better learn how to win without Zacchia in a hurry.

Fairfield Union loses to Hamilton Twp on a last second shot. FU was playing without 20 pt/game scorer Jordan Barr. FU now even at 9-9.

I'm anxious to see how Athens rebounds from their loss to Logan last night. This is a huge game for the Bulldogs coming down the stretch of TVC play! I know Wellston will be without their "big" guy, but Athens will also be shorthanded without their PG. It should be a dandy tonight in the Derrow dome but I'd bet the farm it doesn't top last nights "thriller on 328!"

Floyd... Washington C.H. got beat by Chillicothe by 20 and it could have been worse as Chilli was up by 25 at one time. So much for Chill not beating a team with a winning record.

I'm going to travel to the Hat Friday night as the Cavs entertain the Warren Warriors ... looking forward to talking with the Warren coaches/friends - it should be a good game as Chilli defends its home court ...

Unioto beats Logan 57-52, but lose Erique Hosley for the season. Big loss as the freshman was playing well as a defensive stopper.

... tough loss of the freshman Hosley as he got hurt on a drive to the rim ... Detillion got dinged up as well, sat for a few minutes after what looked like he banged knees with another player ... Unioto played well tonight vs the Purple going 6/18 from behind the arc ... best of luck to the Shermans the rest of the way, as well as hoping Erique Hosley the best in his recovery ...

Unioto 57
Logan 52 final

... the Purple from Logan came out "flat" after it's big win over Athens last night, not much left in the tank as Logan played 3 OT games coming into night's action vs the Shermans ... Coach Hoops for Unioto worked hard in having UHS pressure the ball early and often full court while pushing the ball at every opportunity - the strategy paid off as Logan seemed to have no legs for perimeter shots while LHS seemed a step slow defensively all night ... Unioto 57 Logan 52 a final ...

...Pfloyd Napkin Stats - Unioto...

Scoring : Bryce Arledge 14, Chase Detillion 14, Kyle Strange 10, Nick Cocoran 7, Erique Hosley 6, Nick Overly 3, Zach Downs 2 ... UHS put 8 in the game/7 pushed their names into the scoring column in the scorebook ...

3 pointers: 6/17 ... Arledge 2, Strange 2, Cocoran 1, Overly 1

FT's : 11/17

TOs : 16 for the game

Transition buckets : 4 fgs in transition off of LHS TOs

Put back baskets : 4 fgs ... size does matter in the paint ... UHS interior people worked hard on the offensive boards ; while the perimeter people with their pressure forced 16 Logan turnovers turning 4 TOs into baskets at the rim ... 16 points in put back fg's and transition fgs combined ...

... Pfloyd Napkins Stats - Logan...

Scoring : Tristan Myers 21, Josh Mutzner 10, Chance Cox 8, Pat Klinger 6, Josh Vermillion 4 , Bird McNeal 3, Joey Cotrill got into foul trouble early in the 2nd quarter - went to the bench taking with him the calmness that he brings to floor, when Cotrill is on the bench opposing teams turn up the pressure full court to rattle players =who are on the edge under press , force players without the confidence to handle the pressure the ADHD players forced into TO's , the panic look results in TOs, resulting in transition baskets ...

3 pointers : 4/19 ... Chance Cox 2,Tristan Myers 1, Bird McNeal 1

FT's : 2/5

TOs : 16

... time for some rest for the Purple as they take on Jackson Friday night on the road ... a must win for Logan trying to hang onto 2nd place in the Seoal ... 4 games played in 5 days - Newark comes Jim Myers Gym Saturday night ,,, boys need to pick up both of the remaining games this week to get to 3 W's in 4 trys this week ...
