Unioto 72
Adena 62

Adena stormed back from a big halftime deficit to make it interesting, but Unioto had enough to pull away at the end.

Unioto is now 12-7, 9-4 in the SVC. Adena drops to 3-15, 3-10 in the SVC.

Congratulations to Warren's Junior forward Evan French on his lights out display tonight vs Chillicothe. French went 19 for 23 from the field for 44 points and the new school scoring record. French went on one stretch where he hit 11 straight shots. Warren clinches the SEOAL with the win. Go Big Blue!!!

Actually Piketon was up at the half, and only trailed for about 10 seconds in the entire game. Good win for the Streaks..."3Peat SVC Champs"

Warren 70
Chillicothe 43 final

... I told Coach Maddox before the game started that EVEN if Zach Johnson puts up a 40 spot that night , CHS doesn't have the personnel to stay with the offensive output of the Warriors ... Johnson started the game 4 for 4 (8 pts in the quarter) ...for Warren both Evan French and Reece Patton played their hand in the first quarter scoring inside, outside the arc and of the midrange variety French put up 12 pts with 2 treys/Patton 10 pts in the quarter ... Warrens BIG 2 goes off for 22 vs the Chillicothe 1 in Johnson (8 pts) finished the quarter with 18 points ... Warren 22 vs Chillicothe 18 after one ... Quarter two saw WHS stretch the 4pt lead they had starting the quarter, helped by the defensive pressure put on Zach Johnson - Dylan Leffingwell made Johnson his own holding the CHS offensive weapon to 3 points in the quarter (Chilli mustered 11 points in the 2 period ... on the other side of the court Reece Patton continued to get to the rim, hit the midrange jumper, pick up offensive rebounds and putbacks the junior knocked down 10 more points in the 2nd (Patton totalled 20 at the break) ... Evan French hit 1 three ball in the 2nd ... Warren 39 Chilllicothe 29 at intermission ... Warren's size, bulk, talent in Patton,French,Hall, Yabs, Pannell, Leffingwell putting pressure on the ball defense kept the ball out of Johnson's hands, when he did get it his shots were of the off balance variety Johnson scored 2 points in the 2nd half , without the super seniors contributions offensively (13 pts for the game) the rest of the Cavs had difficulty getting shots/making shots - 4 fg's in the 2nd half of the game/3 FTs ... 14 points total in the last 16 minutes of play ... while Chilli was playing with their anemic offense , Coach Maddox turned the offense over to junior 2.3.4 man Evan French ( flashback to the Hat LAsT season when French put up 40 points on the Cavs) ... refocus to 2/8/13 ... French scores ALL of the Big Bad Blue points in the 3rd - 14 in the quarter ... 2 treys in the qtr ... so far in the game French 12 pts (1st) , 3 pts (2nd), 14 pts (3rd) ... 29 points thru 3 periods ( no other Warriors scored in the 3rd ... Warren 53 Chilli 38 after three quarters ... Warren/French in the 4th ... Team 17pts /15 pts by French ... French scored ALL but 2 WHS points in the 2nd half of action ... Evan French tied Chillicothe at 41-41 with 2:39 left in the game ... in the last 2 minutes CHS picked up a fg to move ahead of Team French 41-43 Cavs ... French picked up an old fashion 3 point play knocking down the shot in the paint AND drained the FT to take the "game within the game lead" for good French 44 Chillicothe 43 ... Evan French with his 44 point performance takes over the top spot in the Warren Record Books for now holding the record for Most Points Scored in a Game (44) ... back to the Warren TEAM ... Warren 70 Chillicothe 43 final

... Pfloyd's Napkin Stats - Chillicothe...

Scoring :Zach Johnson 13,Nate Rosenbauer 10, Nolan Taylor 9, Adam Bixler 4, Tommy Bolte 3, Tim Beard/Harris 2 each

3 Pointers : 2/9 ... Bolte 1,Taylor 1

FT's : 5/13

TOs : 16

... Pfloyd's Napkin Stats - Warren ...

Scoring : Evan French 44, Reece Patton 20, Michael Hall 4, Evan Yabs 2

3 pointers : 5/11 ... French 5

FT's : 1/4

TOs : 15

... Warren has too many BIG TIME weapons in French/Patton ... the whole TEAM plays solid/fundamental defense ... strength with Leffingwell taking the best inside player for the opposition (Zach Johnson tonight) Michael Hall is the 6-5 perimeter mismatch that the opposition has to play with a small perimeter player - can you say post up ... Yabs/Pannell play their roles - getting the ball where it needs to be on the floor, in the right players hands ... toss in the mix Adam Lang who plays the solid D vs the oppositions best as well , good size at 6-3, doesn't get push around - a keeper ...Chillicothe didn't have the personnel to play with Warren for 32 minutes ... game, set, and match ...

Not sure where you're heading tomorrow pfloyd, but if it's LE at Circleville, that game will be played at Everts Middle School to handle to larger crowd for the county rivalry.

I also think VC @ ZT and Unioto @ MT could be very good matchups as well.

...

Athens 64
Nelsonville York 63 OT

... obviously a great game played between the Buckeyes of Coach Kline and Coach Skinners' Bulldogs ! BUT no one has any "specifics"/napkin stats/or rundown of this one???? ... am I going to have to BUY a newspaper to get the scoop ??? goes against my belief that SEOPs is better than any newspaper reporting !!! (I'll wait an hour before I buy that newspaper) ...

Athens .... 14 20 15 13 2 - 64
Nelsonville 16 13 21 12 1 - 63

NY:
Reed 20
Carter 12
Young 10
Handa 9
Elliott 6

Athens
Watson 18
Burrow 12
Summers 10
Elmore 10
A. leuhrman 8
R. leuhrman 6

* great game, packed house, enthusiastic student sections, two intense coaches working the sidelines all night ... Buckeyes wanted to RUN early and often, but then slowed it down when the game remained close in the 2nd half ... pretty good strategy really as it gave the young Bucks a chance to win late in the game.
