The Mark Porter Spartan Classic will be held on the Alexander School Campus on January 2 and January 3, 2026. The Classic benefits the Alexander Athletic Department. Adult tickets will be $6 and students $5. Below is the Classic Schedule:

Good menu of games Swampfox13 , as usual I've penned in the Spartan Classic on my Pfloyd Tour calendar ... depending on the lineup of games on Friday night - I may have to be there for the Athens vs Peebles game as well ... Coach Arey has a solid squad this season as well as Athens I look for the Bulldogs to be a nice ball club in the 2025-26 season as well ...

... the more I look at the Saturday lineup - I really like it ! Nelsonville York will be strong vs an inexperienced Warren team BUT it will be after Christmas! the Warren varsity lineup is last years UNDEFEATED Warren JV team with some of their UNDEFEATED Freshmen players from last season - the Warrior coaching staff, with a group of undefeated players who WILL have figured out their roles - not sure I would want to play them by the end of the season - good matchup !

... Reedsville Eastern led by 6-5 sr. Colton Loyd (21 ppg) vs a Fairland team who is looked at as "being down", having to replace 3 of the best players in SEO in Polcyn, Buchanan, Smith ... the return Fransen/Lochow off of the starting lineup - a good 1,2 punch as both hit the 3 ball, Fransen with 6-4 size & length / Lochow is an outstanding all around athlete ... Coach Speed moved to the administration side at FHS replaced by Coach Thomas getting assistance from coaches Clayton & Luke Thomas ... I'm excited to see this one! - I'll catch Fairland vs Zane Trace at their Tip Off Classic in November, then will see the improvement vs Eastern in January ...

... Southern vs Crooksville and Meigs vs Waverly ... Southern a top 10 in SEOhio team with the addition of Reed Brinager from Meigs going to an already solid Coach Caldwell led Tornado team led by the best kept secret in Southern Ohio - pg Andre Chandler ... Meigs with Carson Davis , 6-8, D1 recruit , inside outside game ... with Owen Tracy as PG and the addition of Colben Beucler from Oak Hill ... Waverly will be loaded - Myers twins, last years outstanding freshmen PG.SG Kage Alexander ... Teagan Hurt, Knisley, Russell, Keesee ... no seniors on the Tiger squad ...

... I liked the Alexander team that I saw over the summer! the Spartans have some talented, get after it basketball players, I like their pg/sg Jace Cooper for AHS ...

... South Gallia vs Trimble? SG had a great summer at the Jackson summer league ... the Rebels return Carson Stowers who can shoot the lights out (10 threes vs Symmes Valley last season) ... Trimble? I'm clueless as to who stayed to play hoops ...

... I'm getting psyched! sitting here typing about this seasons teams, thinking about the teams, players we will be seeing in the 2025-26 campaign! Alexander has put together a good lineup! a great event, put on by an outstanding group of basketball people PLUS we get "the Voice of SE Ohio Basketball! - Lou Horvath" on the PA both days in the Alley ...

Brady Jajczyk (Junior) is as solid as they come and he will carry a lot of the load for Trimble this year.

JJMD24 - he is outstanding ... Jajczyk, when I saw him last season, never saw the ball enough imo ... the offense should have run through him EVERY time down the floor ... he SHOULD carry a lot of the load for the Tomcats ...
